 Principal: Pam Eagleton

Our Lady of the Rosary (OLR) Primary School at Fairfield was established in 1928 and originally staffed by the Sisters of St Joseph.

OLR is a three-stream school with more than 40 full and part-time staff and a total enrolment of more than 580 students. There are 19 classes with three of each grade in Kindergarten to Year 4 and two classes in Years 5 and 6. The school is multicultural, with 22 languages represented and 85 per cent ESL students.

Each Key Learning Area has a Reference Teacher and the implementation of curriculum is co-ordinated by small committees. Given the high ESL nature of the school, there is a strong emphasis on literacy development. The school also has well-established intervention programs for students including Reading Recovery, Special Needs, Gifted and Talented, New Arrivals and bilingual support.

Two Sisters of St Joseph also work in the school in pastoral care and executive support.

Parent involvement in the school has grown over the last few years with the implementation of a parent participation program. Parents assist in the classrooms, as canteen volunteers, with maintenance, excursions, fund raising and other areas.

OLR is a happy school with harmonious community relationships. A great place to teach!
