St Mary’s is situated in the Bankstown area. It is a growing school with an enrolment of around 280 with a wide variety of nationalities represented in our community. This makes our school rich in its cultural diversity. There is a strong sense of family and community within the school and the wider parish. Our school respects and celebrates its own community and the communities of others.
The Bankstown Council is proactive in promoting environmental issues in the area, and supports school initiatives to educate our children about knowing and protecting our bush and river surrounds. Local Aboriginal groups are involved in preserving and celebrating the Indigenous history in the Bankstown area.
The Bankstown Catholic schools offer many exciting challenges and opportunities for teachers. Many of the teachers are in the beginning years of their careers, and the schools are alive with their enthusiasm and commitment to providing the best education for our children.
