St Christopher’s Holsworthy is a developing school situated on Heathcote Road, just 2 minutes from the M5 exit. The school opened in 2002 with a total of 53 children. This year, the school population doubled and we currently have 5 classes – 2 Kindergarten classes, 2 Year 1 classes and a Year 2/3 composite.
In 2004 we will continue to grow, with possibly 3 Kinder classes, 2 Year 1 classes, 2 Year 2 classes and a Year 3 /4 composite. It is anticipated that St Christopher’s will eventually be a three-stream school with approximately 550 children.
We are currently a demountable school with Stage 1 of the permanent school scheduled to start near the end of 2003. Stage 1 of the building project will include an administration block and nine classrooms. At present we work in comfortable air-conditioned, well-resourced and spacious demountable classrooms.
In 2004 we anticipate that our staff will grow to 15 teachers and ancillary staff members. We have a very happy, enthusiastic and cohesive staff, committed to community building and meeting the needs of the children in their care.
There is a strong family focus at St Christopher’s with staff, children, parents and parish working in partnership towards the development of our school community.
