![]() Principal: Mr. Michael Mullaly ![]() De La Salle College, Revesby Heights was founded in 1960. The De La Salle Brothers were responsible for the administration of the College until the end of 1992 when the first lay Principal was appointed. Since its foundation the College has had only five Principals, with a very stable administrative and teaching staff. The Primary section of the College closed at the end of 1994. The College is an all boys Years 7–10 school with the present school population around 428. About sixty percent of Year 7 is drawn from the three Catholic parish schools of St Luke’s, Revesby, St Christopher’s, Panania and St Therese’s, Padstow. The remainder come from other Catholic schools, with a smaller number from local State schools. There are 29 full-time and three part-time teaching staff and nine non-teaching staff employed, with an even balance of female and male teaching staff. The age of the teaching staff is relatively young. A major building project was started in 1999. Over $2.2 million has been spent upgrading present facilities and building a new administration block, TAS facilities and staff car park. The College has achieved excellent results in external examinations, with School Certificate results being well above State average. All students are encouraged to excel and there is a well-established system of awards in place to encourage student achievement. De La Salle College will extend to Year 12 by 2007 with additional facilities planned for Science, Art, Performing Arts, and Technology and Applied Studies, as well as an expansion of the library and staff facilities. It is anticipated that enrolment will increase to about 680 students. |
