![]() Principal: Robyn Glover ![]() Mary MacKillop College is a Catholic girls’ Secondary school established in the tradition of the Sisters of St Joseph and their founder, Blessed Mary MacKillop. Social justice and the concern for the poor are central to life at the College, with Mary MacKillop’s words “never see a need without doing something about it” underpinning all that happens at the College. The school population of approximately 950 students comes mainly from the parishes of Smithfield, Cabramatta, Villawood and Fairfield. There is a rich multicultural flavour in the community, with 80 per cent of parents being born overseas in 71 different countries. No one nationality dominates. There is a teaching staff of 90, which has a strong commitment to innovation and concern for the individual learning needs of each student. Students and ex-students regularly comment on the quality of their relationship with their teachers. Our classrooms provide a safe, secure environment for our students, so classroom discipline problems are few. The staff has adapted quickly to the new HSC and the student results have been excellent. The College was built in 1991 and is beautifully designed amidst picturesque surroundings with many playing fields. There is a College Hall and the Technology masterplan is well under way. |
