Mater Dei Catholic College was established by the Diocesan Catholic Schools Office on an expansive site overlooking Lake Albert in the southern suburbs of Wagga Wagga as a co-educational centre for students in secondary years of education.
It is a Catholic systemic college catering for the holistic educational needs of students from the city of Wagga Wagga and surrounding rural communities and in the context of the Mission of the Catholic Church. To cater for current and planned growth, Mater Dei Catholic College offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled computer technician to expand our dynamic team. The network uses a wide range of technology to support the educational needs of over 670 students and 65 staff.
Working in a professional, friendly environment, the successful candidate will support the fleet of desktops, notebooks, and other computing technology used within the College. The successful candidate will also play a key role in the implementation of the rollout of the equipment acquired under the Australian Government’s Digital Education Revolution. The person will liaise with the College Manager and ICT Manager and then report to the College Principal.
We are looking for someone who is able to work autonomously and also support strategic management and planning for resource utilisation. The successful applicant will be employed for 25 hours per week, 5 hours a day Monday to Friday.
The key criteria for this position are the ability to provide:
- day-to-day assistance for teachers in the use of technologies;
- support for the integration of the Australian Government’s Laptop Program;
- high level of technical proficiency in network support as well as educational applications and software;
- a high standard of personal presentation, administration and communication skills;
- a willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the College;
Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a school environment and with wireless networks may be an advantage.
