Mercy Catholic College, Chatswood is a systemic girls secondary school on the Lower North Shore of Sydney. The school was established in 1890 by the Sisters of Mercy. The first lay Principal was appointed in 1989. The enrolment of the college is 450 students.
The college aims to educate students to be strong Catholic women, ready and able to take an active role in society. It values the role of the individual (students, staff, parents) within the community, and attempts to encourage the understanding that rights must be balanced by responsibilities. It strives to meet the sentiments of the prophet Micah to 'act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with your God'.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced teachers who are committed to the ethos of the Catholic School and to excellence in teaching and learning for the following position:
English and Religious Education Teacher 7-12 permanent full-time
SPECIFIC CRITERIA
• Year 7 - 11 English (including Year 11 Standard or Advanced)
• Year 7 - 10 Religious Education
• Willingness to teach Year 9 drama will be an advantage
• Applicants will hvae qualifications in Religious Education or demonstrate a willingness to undertake study in Religious Education.
