Kindergarten to Year 6 serving the parishes of Warilla and Shellharbour with an enrolment of approximately 330 pupils

Applications are invited for the following position:

Reading Recovery Teacher (F.T.E. 0.8) Literacy Support Teacher (F.T.E. 0.2)

A permanent full time position commencing 27 January 2010. The position is for an experienced teacher to undertake a training year in Reading Recovery and also provide literacy support in a number of classrooms. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will fulfill the Reading Recovery Teacher role for a minimum of three years.

Desirable Criteria:
* practising Catholic with an ability to articulate an understanding of the evangelising mission of the church
* proven willingness to fully engage in challenging professional learning opportunities
* a demonstrated capacity to adopt new pedagogical practices in response to new learnings
* demonstrated ability to work collegially and enthusiastically with a team of professional educators and to engage in collaborative professional dialogue
* a capacity to successfully lead staff in professional and pedagogical change
* demonstrated ability to recognise and respond to the pastoral needs of the community.
* proven willingness to engage in the wider life of the school community
