Treetops is a small, caring educational community, located in the Perth Hills. Due to growth in student numbers , we seek an enthusiastic Secondary teacher. This role commences Term 4 2024. We are looking for a Senior School specialist in English, History or Psychology – who has experience / capacity & willingness to teach WACE General or International Baccalaureate subjects – or mixture of these.

<p>Treetops is a small, caring educational community, located in the Perth Hills. Due to growth in student numbers throughout the school, we are now seeking an enthusiastic Secondary teacher. This position can potentially be full- time. This role will commence in Term 4 2024. We are looking for a Senior School specialist in English, History or Psychology – who has experience or the capacity and willingness to teach WACE General courses, International Baccalaureate subjects – or a mixture of these. </p><p> </p><p>Treetops places great value on educating the individual within a child-centred setting.<br /></p><p> </p><p>The School utilises the Western Australian Curriculum for Years 7 to 10, and year 11-12 WACE General courses. We also teach the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The applicant will be hardworking and detail-oriented, with excellent knowledge of the subject material and a sound understanding of the Western Australian curriculum. The applicant must be available to start from Term 4, 2024.<br /></p><p>This is a unique opportunity to be a part of one of Perth’s well-established innovative learning communities.<br /></p><p><b><u>Key Objectives </u></b></p><p>To carry out the professional duties of a teacher in accordance with the school&#39;s policies, under the direction of the Principal. </p><p><b><u>Essential Criteria for Candidate </u></b></p><p>• Ability to engage and motivate students. </p><p>• Excellent communication skills. </p><p>• Knowledge of the Western Australian curriculum, together with a contemporary approach to teaching, learning and assessment. </p><p>• Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate curriculum, or willingness to be trained in this. </p><p>• Willingness to embrace the ethos of the school, especially respect for the individual, while delivering an innovative and academically-challenging education. </p><p>• Bachelor of Education (Secondary) qualification; or relevant Bachelor qualification, together with a Graduate Diploma of Education in Secondary Teaching – preferred majors in English, History or Psychology. </p><p>• Current TRBWA registration (or ability to gain registration prior to commencement of employment). </p><p>• Current working with children card </p><p><b><u>Desirable Criteria for Candidate </u></b></p><p>• Experience in child-centered education and inquiry-based learning. </p><p>• Experience in teaching in 11 and 12. </p><p>• Experience in multi-age grouping. </p><p>• Ability to create and manage a differentiated curriculum. </p><p>• Open to learning new skills and techniques. </p><p>• Ability to work collaboratively and energetically within a highly differentiated student-centred school culture. </p><p><br /></p>
