<p>A rare opportunity has arisen for a HR, Policy and Project Officer to join the Business Office team located at our Middle/Senior campus for a 12 month fixed term maternity relief contract.&nbsp; The HR, Policy and Project Officer will be responsible for providing support for the Human Resources function of the college and ensuring all human resource requirements are managed in a sound, effective and timely manner.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive team environment.&nbsp; The successful candidate will commence late November 2017 for a handover with the current incumbent. &nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Duties and responsibilities</strong> will include:</p> <ul> <li>Management of the recruitment process including finalising position descriptions, advertising vacancies, shortlisting, organising interviews and interview documentation</li> <li>On-boarding of new staff including new starter documentation/contracts, IT requirements and new starter induction (including WHS, rehabilitation and emergency procedures)</li> <li>Maintaining relevant human resource databases including internal databases, Lutheran Education Australia and Queensland College of Teachers databases</li> <li>Providing advice and support to Senior Executives for any performance or employment relations matters</li> <li>Management of all compliance training including First Aid courses/qualifications, internal online training courses and Valuing Safe Communities training</li> <li>Maintaining the college&rsquo;s Blue Card register and documentation for both staff and volunteers</li> <li>Review current processes and work to streamline and implement improvements/initiatives (on-boarding process, performance reviews, staff wellness, position descriptions)</li> <li>Preparation of Risk Committee meeting documentation including attendance at Risk Committee Meetings and minute taking</li> <li>Act as the college&rsquo;s Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator, and manage all work related and non-work related injuries</li> <li>Oversee the colleges document control/risk management system &ndash; including ensuring all policies and procedures remain current and compliance tasks are completed</li> <li>Assist the Business Manager with grant applications as required</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Selection criteria</strong></p> <p>The following criteria will be used by the selection panel when short-listing candidates.&nbsp; Applicants should address the below in their written applications.</p> <ul> <li>A formal tertiary qualification in Human Resources or Business related discipline would be highly regarded</li> <li>3-5 years&rsquo; experience in a Human Resources Officer/Advisor level position.&nbsp; Experience within an educational environment would be highly regarded</li> <li>Must be able to demonstrate strong administration skills; having the ability to work autonomously and with a high level of efficiency and accuracy</li> <li>Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to produce employee documentation and policies/procedures whilst ensuring accuracy at all times</li> <li>Must have highly proficient ICT skills across several platforms; including Microsoft Office applications.&nbsp; Experience in a document control/risk management system would be highly regarded</li> <li>Must have strong and proven communication skills - both oral and written</li> <li>Must have the commitment to meet quality standards; and the willingness to update their skills and knowledge on a regular basis</li> <li>Must have strong time management and organisation skills with the ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines; and be able to respond rapidly to change</li> <li>Must be able to exercise initiative, show leadership and judgement in dealing with a wide range of people at all different levels</li> <li>Must be able to work in a team environment and support the Christian ethos of the college</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>For further information please visit <a href="http://www.tlc.qld.edu.au/">www.tlc.qld.edu.au</a> &nbsp;and follow the prompts to the employment section to review the position description.&nbsp; Applications with covering letter and resume, including a copy of relevant qualifications names and contact details of three referees are to be emailed to <a href="mailto:careers@tlc.qld.edu.au">careers@tlc.qld.edu.au</a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Any further queries about this position can be directed to Kara Dalgliesh, Human Resources, Policy and Project Officer by calling (07) 5556 8248 or emailing <a href="mailto:careers@tlc.qld.edu.au">careers@tlc.qld.edu.au</a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p align="center">Trinity Lutheran College is an equal opportunity employer</p>
