Heritage College is seeking to appoint a part time Finance Officer to join our finance / administration team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful applicant will have recent experience in finance / accounting support with excellent skills using Xero (or MYOB) and Microsoft Office software.

Our beliefs and principles are promoted to students in a happy, safe Christian environment. </p><p>Heritage College has a reputation for excellence in education established over 25 years. <br /></p><p><b>About the Role</b></p><p>We are seeking a permanent part-time Finance Officer to assist the Finance Manager with accounts payable and order processing, support for month end reporting including journals and analysis and processing the fortnightly payroll. </p><p> </p><p>The successful application will demonstrate well developed management, organisational and interpersonal skills, together with effective relationship skills in order to work with various College stakeholders.</p><p><b>Professional Responsibilities </b></p><p>The Finance Officer reports to, and assists the Finance Manager in the financial administration of the College<br /></p><p>Duties include accounts payable, purchase ordering, analysis of expense accounts, banking, sundry invoicing, assist with payroll processing and other such duties as directed by the Finance Manager </p><p>The position has no line management responsibilities. </p><p><b>Accounting Management</b><br /></p><ul><li>Process purchase orders and accounts payable invoices </li><li>Prepare payment files for accounts payable in line with agreed payment terms. </li><li>Manage school credit card usage and perform reconciliations </li><li>Process reimbursement forms </li><li>Issue invoices to customers and external parties as required </li><li>Prepare bank deposits </li><li>Assist with bank reconciliations in Xero </li><li>Undertake analysis of expense accounts and identify any journals that may be required </li><li>May provide support for month end process and journals </li><li>Prepare ad-hoc reports for budget holders as requested </li><li>Ensure all processes you are responsible for, are documented and maintained as current </li><li>Assist in annual audits </li></ul><p><b>  Payroll Assistance </b></p><ul><li>Ensure payroll transactions are processed efficiently </li><li>Collect and enter data to maintain and update payroll information as required </li><li>Calculate leave entitlements and payments due in accordance with statutory obligations under guidance from the Finance Manager </li></ul><p><b>Compliance </b></p><ul><li>Provide information in the form required to assist the Finance Manager in acquitting Commonwealth and State grant funding obligations throughout each year </li></ul><p><b>Working Relationships</b><br /></p><p>The Finance Officer will:</p><ul><li>be an active member of the administration team</li><li>have a collaborative relationship and undertake meetings with the Finance Manager on a scheduled basis; and perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Business Manager or the Principal</li></ul><p>If you have the required experience and your personal approach aligns with the Heritage College mission and values, we look forward to hearing from you.</p><p>A copy of the Position Description including the Selection Criteria is attached. </p><p>Applications are to be directed via email to <a href="mailto:rguyatt&#64;heritage.sa.edu.au" rel="nofollow">rguyatt&#64;heritage.sa.edu.au</a>.</p><p> </p><p><i>Applications will be reviewed promptly and after interview, the position may be filled prior to the closing date.</i></p><p>Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
