Contract Type: Contract Position Part Time (0.80 FTE)

This is a temporary position for 2024 - 59hrs per fortnight working across 5 days a week. This temporary position commences beginning of Term 2 (29 April 2024).

<p>Learning Support Officers (LSO) undertake essential work supporting children with diverse learning needs.  An LSO may be assigned one student for specialised support, or a number of students within the classroom environment.<br /></p><p>Applicants should expect to work across Year 7-12 classrooms.</p><p>Accredited LSO&#39;s (Certificate III/IV in School Based Education Support), those with experience in a secondary setting and former teachers are all strongly encouraged to apply.</p><p><b>Essential Criteria </b> <br /></p><p>To be successful for this role, you must demonstrate the ability to:<br /></p><p>• facilitate the ongoing development of differentiated teaching and learning approaches and support teachers in the educative models being used.</p><p>• use highly developed interpersonal skills reflecting an ability to effectively communicate with students, staff and parents.</p><p>• work collaboratively within a faculty and across all year groups, undertaking responsibilities within the team, as required by your mentors and leaders.</p><p>• show openness with colleagues to build genuine and professional relationships and to promote a shared commitment and sense of alignment with College strategic directions.</p><p>• demonstrate a working understanding of the NCCD Framework.</p><p>• commit to the ethos of Catholic education and all College activities.</p><p>You will have attained: </p><p>• previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs.</p><p>• Certificate III/IV in School Based Education Support.</p><p>You can apply for this position via Teachers on Net or you can email your application directly to laura.odonnell&#64;syd.catholic.edu.au </p><p>Interested applicants are asked to provide a cover letter and full curriculum vitae (including telephone numbers of three references including your current and previous employer).<br /></p><p> </p><p><i>Support Staff must be registered to work with Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS).
