The Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta is seeking an Administration Officer to support the business and clerical requirements of the school.

<p><b>Location: </b>St John Paul II Catholic College - Schofields</p><p dir="ltr">St John Paul II Catholic College is seeking Expressions of Interest for the position of Presiding Officer for the 2024 Higher School Certificate (HSC).</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Position Criteria</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">The Presiding Officer is responsible for managing the preparation, conduct, and supervision of the HSC exams. Several supervision staff support the Presiding Officer.</p> <p dir="ltr">The successful applicant is employed by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) to ensure the examinations are conducted in accordance with the NESA's rules.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>The Presiding Officer is responsible for:</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">• liaising with the school Principal or delegate for the exam rooms, set-up etc</p> <p dir="ltr">• following all directions which have been given by NESA about security and administrative procedures</p> <p dir="ltr">• maintaining security at all times of the examination papers and materials</p> <p dir="ltr">• maintaining a high level of confidentiality at all times</p> <p dir="ltr">• following and observing NESA’s Policies and Procedures regarding disability provisions and illness/misadventure applications</p> <p dir="ltr">• following and observing all Child Protection, Emergency Evacuation and Workplace Health and Safety procedures and policies.</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>The Presiding Officer must have:</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">• use a vehicle with comprehensive motor vehicle insurance policy</p> <p dir="ltr">• have intermediate working knowledge of common computer programs and tasks, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, emails, downloading documents etc</p> <p dir="ltr">• be well-organised</p> <p dir="ltr">• have good attention to detail</p> <p dir="ltr">• be able to effectively manage students and a team of supervisors.</p> <p dir="ltr">• be available for the ENTIRE examination period</p> <p dir="ltr">The Presiding Officer will need to be available for the HSC exam period which is scheduled to be <strong>Tuesday 15 October through to Friday 8 November 2024</strong>. The Presiding Officer will also need to be available to administer other examinations and test blocks at the College on the following dates:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Year 12 Trial HSC Examinations - Monday 5 August to Tuesday 20 August 2024</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Year 11 Examinations - Monday 2 September to Tuesday 13 September 2024</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Special Notes</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">The following restrictions on eligibility for employment as a Test Supervisor exist:</p> <p dir="ltr">• A person who has a child or near relative sitting the 2024 Higher School Certificate Examinations cannot be appointed as Presiding Officer.</p> <p dir="ltr">• they are/were recently employed by the school (paid or volunteer) and may be perceived as a conflict of interest. This may include, but not limited to, clerical staff, casual, relief, part-time or permanent teachers.</p> <p dir="ltr">Applications should include a short cover letter outlining relevant experience and qualifications and applicants will need to provide two (2) references.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>The Organisation</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">This position involves working with children.
