Christ the Priest Catholic Primary School is an integral part of the faith community of St Catherine of Siena, Caroline Springs and is one of two parish primary schools. Christ the Priest is governed by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) Limited. MACS is the employer of employees at Christ the Priest.

<p>Christ the Priest (CtP) Primary School is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.</p><p>The role of CtP&#39;s Counsellor/Psychologist (0.4 FTE) is to support the development, academic progress and wellbeing of its primary school-aged students. The psychologist works closely with the Student Diversity and Wellbeing Team to ensure that students&#39; learning opportunities and wellbeing throughout the school are maximised. The Counsellor/Psychologist is responsible for undertaking appropriate testing and counselling of students.</p><p>This is a 12 month maternity leave contract position.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p><b>Special Requirements </b></p><p>The successful applicant must:</p><p>-Hold current registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers ( AASW), Australian Counselling Association (ACA), Psychotherapy &amp; Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA)  OR general registration as a psychologist with The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)</p><p>-Hold a valid Working with Children Check and comply with Christ the Priest&#39;s ChildSafe Standards (Ministerial Order 1359)</p><p>-Have the ability to communicate and work with families, school staff and community agencies</p><p>-Have excellent organisational, communication and information technology skills</p><p>-Experience in cognitive, emotional and behavioural assessment of children and young people, providing quality reports and planning interventions and behaviour support plans collaboratively.</p><p>-Experience in counselling children using evidence-based interventions</p><p> </p><p>-Read and complete all of the attached documentation</p><p>-Experience working in a school environment would be advantageous</p><p><b>Benefits</b></p><p>- Financial support for supervision</p><p>- School holidays</p><p>- Flexibility with working days (two days per week)</p><p>Please note, that an appointment may be made before the closing date if a suitable applicant has been identified as fulfilling the requirements of the school and the position.</p>
