Working at St. Patrick’s College, Strathfield means joining a community of highly motivated, passionate, professional and experienced individuals who are known for their inclusivity, expertise and dedication to our students, education and each other. </p><p>The Maintenance Supervisor will assist the Property Services and Facilities Manager in ensuring the maintenance and daily operational needs of St Patrick’s College buildings, equipment, grounds and event logistics are met. </p><ul><li><b>Newly created permanent full-time position - Immediate start </b></li><li><b>Monday to Friday 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM &#43; Monthly RDO </b></li><li><b>Five weeks annual leave </b></li></ul><p>This is a versatile role best suited to a self-starter who is ideally experienced in a large education facility and has sound operational and property maintenance experience. The successful applicant will be capable of managing a small onsite team and external sub-contractors. </p><p>The successful applicant should possess the physical ability to undertake the requirements of the role, including bending, lifting and carrying, have a strong work ethic and be able to carry out the responsibilities of the position with minimum supervision. </p><p><b>Key Responsibilities </b></p><ul><li>Engage and manage external sub-contractor in relation to adhoc repairs and preventative maintenance. </li><li>Ensure maintenance requests are allocated, actioned, completed and signed off on the ticketing system in a timely manner. </li><li>Ensure reactive and scheduled maintenance activities are completed in a timely manner. </li><li>Undertake regular site inspections of all College buildings, vehicles, facilities and grounds, ensuring they are safe, well presented and in good order. </li><li>Carry out basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and repairs and maintenance tasks to College buildings, grounds and furnishings and equipment. </li><li>Furniture relocation. </li><li>Assist with daily unlock of College. </li><li>Undertake preventative and reactive maintenance tasks as required. </li><li>Various driving duties as required. </li><li>Take a proactive approach to identifying, reporting and taking action in relation Work Health and Safety. </li><li>Attend regular operations team meetings. </li><li>Workshop stock control and purchasing as required. </li><li>Performing other duties as directed by the Principal. </li></ul><p><b>Essential Criteria </b></p><ul><li>Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice. </li><li>Relevant experience in Facilities Management service delivery or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of training, education and experience. </li><li>Sound knowledge and experience in building and grounds maintenance. </li><li>Experience in managing sub-contractors. </li><li>Physically fit to complete manual tasks. </li><li>Ability to lead a small team. </li><li>Adaptable and capable of operating effectively with minimal supervision. </li><li>Proven ability to problem solve and work under pressure. </li><li>Excellent organisational, prioritisation and time management skills. </li><li>A strong customer-focused approach. </li><li>Sound communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Possess a current and valid NSW Class C Drivers License. </li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. </li></ul><p><b>Desirable Criteria </b></p><ul><li>Trade qualifications. </li><li>Experience in a similar role is highly regarded. </li><li>LR and HR Drivers License. </li><li>Current First Aid and CPR qualifications. </li></ul><p><b>How to apply </b></p><p>To express your interest in joining our highly motivated staff, apply via the online ‘Career Application’ available on our website <a href="https://www.spc.nsw.edu.au/working-spc/working-spc-career-application/" rel="nofollow">Working at SPC | St Patrick&#39;s College Strathfield</a> </p><p>Your application should consist of: </p><p><b>1.Cover letter </b>(maximum two pages) that highlights your claim for the role and demonstrates your suitability. </p><p><b>2.Current CV</b> (maximum five pages) outlining your qualifications, experience and skills together with the contact information for two (2) referees (preferably from your current / most recent employer). </p><p><i>All applications should be addressed to The Principal (MS Word and PDF attachments are preferred). </i></p><p>We look forward to hearing how your capabilities, knowledge and experience make you the best person for this role. </p><p>A commitment to uphold the Catholic ethos of a school in the Edmund Rice tradition and a valid Working with Children clearance are essential conditions of employment. </p><p>Evidence of a valid WWCC clearance and successful completion of a pre-employment medical check will be required prior to employment. </p><p>St Patrick’s College is a child safe and child-centred organisation, committed to the protection of children and has zero-tolerance of any abuse of children.
