St Bernard’s College is a vibrant learning community providing holistic boys’ education with a strong focus on academic excellence. The College is seeking full-time Learning Support Officers commencing as soon as possible.

<p><b> The main responsibilities of the role include:</b></p><p><b>1. Learning &amp; Teaching</b> - lead small group instruction, adapt lessons under teacher guidance: </p><ul><li>Work with students on a one to one basis or in a small class group. </li><li>Work with students who have additional needs/identified learning difficulties; <br /><br /></li></ul><p><b>2. Data Collection</b> - formal and anecdotal evidence on student performance: </p><ul><li>Assist with the administrative duties associated with classroom activities. </li><li>Collect data for analysis by teachers and student support </li><li>Assist with the collection, preparation and distribution of support materials. <br /><br /></li></ul><p><b>3. Communication</b> – feedback to teachers and students: </p><ul><li>Assist with the communication between students and teachers. </li><li>Liaise with classroom teachers regarding performance, work habits and behaviour of supported students. <br /><br /></li></ul><p><b>4. Skills/Professional Learning</b> – implementation of evidence-based learning intervention. </p><ul><li>Provide physical, emotional/social and academic support for students; </li><li>Act as an advocate for supported students as required. <br /><br /></li></ul><p><b>The successful applicant will demonstrate the following competencies: </b></p><ul><li>Qualifications e.g. Certificate 3 in Education Support/Integration Aide (or equivalent) is required. </li><li>Demonstrated understanding of the pastoral care needs of boys in a Catholic secondary school for boys. </li><li>Experience within a Catholic educational environment. </li><li>Demonstrated administrative and organisational skills. </li><li>Current Working with Children Check and a National Police History Check. <br /><br /></li></ul><p>Please visit the College website <a href="http://www.sbc.vic.edu.au/about/employment." rel="nofollow">www.sbc.vic.edu.au/about/employment.</a></p><p>Applications close at 4.00 pm  5 April 2024.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
