An exciting opportunity exists for two (2) suitably experienced Middle & High School Learning Support Assistants to join the Willunga Waldorf School from Term 2.

<p>We are now inviting applications to fill <b>two</b> vacancies in our <b>Middle &amp; High School Learning Support </b>team.</p><p><b>About You </b></p><p>The successful applicants will have a genuine interest in and warmth for assisting young people in a Waldorf classroom setting. They will have excellent interpersonal skills, be a good observer and listener, and able to follow the teacher’s methodology. With their positive outlook and general attitude, they are willing and able to find ways of meeting and supporting each young person where they are at. </p><p><b>About the Role </b></p><p>As a Learning Support Assistant, you will assist the Main Lesson and specialist teachers in the Middle and/or High School in creating an inclusive, supportive and creative learning environment for the class, particularly for neurodiverse students. You may provide close one-to-one student support within the classroom, in specialist lessons and during break times to help them engage with the curriculum as well as the social fabric of the school. You will further support teachers in meeting individual student learning goals.</p><p> </p><p><b>Key selection criteria </b></p><ul><li>Excellent interpersonal skills with young people </li><li>Experience and interest in working with neurodiverse students highly desirable </li><li>Knowledge or an understanding of the Waldorf/Steiner Curriculum highly desirable </li><li>Ability to find ways of meeting an individual’s needs that work </li><li>Good observer and listener </li><li>Ability to use initiative and to accept guidance and feedback </li><li>Excellent time management and personal organizational skills </li><li>Ability to adhere to the confidentiality requirements of a school environment </li><li>Rights to work in Australia essential</li></ul><p><i>For a full position description, please visit our website: <a href="https://wws.sa.edu.au/employment/" rel="nofollow">https://wws.sa.edu.au/employment/</a></i><br /></p><p><b>Essential Qualifications/Certificates</b><br /></p><ul><li>Certificate III in Education Support, or comparable diploma or Higher Degree, or equivalent professional experience </li><li>Current SA Working with Children Check </li><li>Current RRHAN-EC training certificate </li><li>Current Provide First Aid in an Education and Care setting certificate </li></ul><p><b>What We Offer </b></p><p>Willunga Waldorf School offers an exciting, supportive and rewarding environment to work.
