<p>Portside Christian College is a non-denominational Christian college based in the Western suburbs of Adelaide that caters for students from Foundation to Year 12, with an Early Learning Centre and Trade Training Centre. </p><p>At Portside Christian College, we deliver Teaching and Learning programs using the Understanding by Design curriculum framework from a biblical perspective. Being Christ-Centred is essential to making our values meaningful and effective.</p><p> </p><p><b><br /></b></p><p><b>Position Description </b></p><p><u>Position title:</u> Student Wellbeing Officer </p><p><u>Position number:</u> WSO02 </p><p><u>Agreement:</u> Portside Christian College Enterprise Agreement (2021) </p><p><u>Award:</u> Educational Services (Schools) General Staff Award 2020 </p><p><u>Level:</u> General Level 4 </p><p><u>FTE:</u> 0.67 FTE [4 days per week during school terms] </p><p><u>Reports to:</u> Student Wellbeing Coordinator </p><p><u>Direct reports:</u> Nil </p><p><u><br /></u></p><p><b>General responsibilities</b></p><p>• Have an understanding of and commitment to the College Vision, Purpose, Values and Statement of Faith </p><p>• Act in accordance with the College Handbook (Staff), Staff Code of Conduct and Staff Device Agreement, as well as all other College policies and procedures </p><p>• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with staff, students and parents </p><p>• Actively contribute to the Christian life of the College community </p><p>• Attend meetings, functions and extra-curricular activities as required </p><p>• Participate in the College’s ongoing Professional Learning opportunities </p><p><br /></p><p><b>Role and responsibilities</b></p><p><u> Model and Promote Excellence: </u></p><p>• Demonstrate College Values </p><p>• Promote restorative practices and student resilience with strategies that foster self-regulation, self-awareness and problem solving </p><p>• Network and liaise with practitioners and service agencies as appropriate </p><p>• Sound understanding of the referral process for appropriate agencies </p><p>• Refer students to the College Inclusion support team to facilitate multidisciplinary support to meet the needs of the students in a holistic environment </p><p>• Provide support to the student regulation room, teaching students the skills of self-regulation </p><p>• Understand the legal and ethical underpinnings of child safe practices </p><p><u>Daily Organisation, Operations and Resources: </u></p><p>• Implement and monitor support plans for students with mental health needs </p><p>• Complete reporting and notification requirements in line with College policies and procedures </p><p>• Adhere to the College policies and procedures </p><p>• Attend meetings, functions and extra-curricular activities </p><p>• Participate in the College’s ongoing professional learning opportunities </p><p>• Engage professional improvement and development including being observed, receiving feedback and being coached </p><p>• Work within Work, Health and Safety aspects of Portside Christian College </p><p>• Sustainably source, manage and organise appropriate resources at all times </p><p><u>Pastoral Care: </u></p><p>• Implement positive culture through understanding and participating in restorative approaches and KARR framework </p><p>• Create an atmosphere of nurtured respect, kindness and learning </p><p>• Liaise with parents and staff regarding students’ wellbeing needs </p><p>• Liaise with College Leadership and Teams to promote positive outcomes, student resilience and wellbeing services </p><p>• Encourage positive student relationships within the classroom, among peers and at home </p><p>• Participate in College activities to develop rapport and connection with students and the wider College community </p><p>• Provide pastoral support, mentoring and appropriate service referrals to students </p><p><br /></p><p><b>Desired qualifications of successful candidate</b> </p><p>• Level 4 duties typically require a skill level which assumes and requires knowledge or training equivalent to: </p><p>(i) Completion of a diploma level qualification with relevant work related experience; </p><p>(ii) Completion of a Certificate IV with relevant work experience; </p><p>(iii) Completion of a post-trades certificate and extensive relevant experience and on-the-job training; </p><p>(iv) Completion of a Certificate III with extensive relevant work experience;
