They share with the Principal all aspects of the College’s leadership and management, its vision, mission and strategic directions and the development of a professional learning community.</p> <p>Assistant Principal roles are organised under the areas of ‘Wellbeing’, ‘Learning’ and ‘Development’. Assistant Principals work collaboratively across all of these areas in leading the school.</p> <div> <p><strong><span>Benefits and Opportunities</span>&nbsp;</strong></p> </div> <ul> <li><span>A positive and collaborative workplace culture</span>&nbsp;</li> <li><span>Extensive training in our high-quality professional learning program, Catalyst</span>&nbsp;</li> <li><span>Access to curriculum resources that support evidence-based, high-impact teaching practice</span>&nbsp;</li> <li><span>24 weeks of paid parental leave (maternity/adoption)</span>&nbsp;</li> <li><span>Up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave (paternity/non-initial primary carer leave)</span>&nbsp;</li> <li><span>Support for professional development and study opportunities</span>&nbsp;</li> <li><span>Opportunities to transfer to other schools within the Archdiocese across ACT and NSW to support lifestyle choice</span></li> </ul> <p><span><strong>Key Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong><br></span></p> <ul> <li>Oversee and review the student mentoring and the mentor programs</li> <li>Support the implementation and ongoing currency of Schoolwide Positive Behaviours (SWPB)</li> <li>Support the tiered intervention processes and the management of Level Three interventions</li> <li>Manage the induction of new students (enrolment notes; contact with previous school; mentor decisions) with their respective House Team</li> <li>Manage the production of Semester Academic Reports&nbsp;</li> <li>Support the establishment and implementation of whole school celebrations.&nbsp;</li> <li>Oversee and support the Student Leadership Team</li> <li>Liaise with relevant staff regarding student attendance Years 7-10 and build strong connections with the local community, including Primary Schools, Parish and relevant community groups.</li> <li>Develop student leadership programs and opportunities from Years 7-10</li> <li>Oversee the updating of student processes in line with CE policies (e.g. attendance, mandatory reporting)&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential Criteria&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must hold a relevant Working with Children registration (WWVP) and Teaching Accreditation (TQI)</li> <li>Must hold relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelors). Relevant post-graduate qualifications an advantage.</li> <li>Have a qualification in Religious Education or make a commitment to undertake post-graduate study in Religious Education during the first contract period in accordance with Religious Education Accreditation to work, teach and lead in Catholic Education in the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Accreditation Framework&nbsp;</li> <li>A proven commitment to Catholic education and demonstrated leadership ability in the development of Catholic identity, life and culture.</li> <li>Demonstrate an active faith commitment</li> <li>Excellent classroom practice skills and a strong commitment to the professional development of self and others.</li> <li>Well developed self-management skills and the qualities of integrity, self-reflection, resilience and emotional maturity.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to develop the vision, mission and strategic goals of the College, to bring them alive in innovative educational programs and practices, also aligning them with the national and system agenda.</li> <li>Proven leadership skills in working collaboratively and flexibly with colleagues to build their capacity and manage their performance.</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to facilitate productive, just and caring relationships on all levels, to resolve conflict and to deal with complex interpersonal issues.</li> <li>Evidence successful performance in leadership in Catholic schools.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <div> <p style="text-align: left"><strong><span>Application Process</span>&nbsp;<br></strong><span>Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and current resume including a statement of suitability against the skills, attributes, and experience as outlined in the Position Description.</span>&nbsp;</p> </div> <div style="text-align: left"> <p><span>This position involves working with children.
