<p><strong>Location:</strong> Within schools, CBD and WFH<br><strong>Commencement Date:</strong> June 2024<br><strong>Closing Date:</strong> Thursday, 18 April 2024<br><strong>Capacity:</strong> Full-time, 12-month contract <br> <br><strong>About the role</strong><br> <br>Reporting to the Supervisor: Student Wellbeing, the Education Officer: Student Wellbeing is responsible for providing specialist advice, assistance and case management support to schools within the Archdiocese of Sydney and internal Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) directorates in supporting the wellbeing of SCS students. <br> <br>Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to;</p> <ul> <li>supporting school staff in understanding and implementing relevant SCS Student Wellbeing policies and practices</li> <li>exercising leadership through support, advice and professional development for members of school leadership teams and teachers using a coaching/mentoring model</li> <li>collaborating with school staff in monitoring and reviewing the ongoing effectiveness of the structures and plans implemented to achieve positive student wellbeing outcomes</li> <li>collaborating with schools and internal SCS teams to support school implementation of the requirements of relevant legislation</li> <li>providing case management support to schools for students demonstrating behavioural, mental health and other wellbeing issues</li> <li>assisting school-based case management teams with the coordination of appropriate interventions with all stakeholders, including the broader school community and external agencies</li> <li>assisting schools in developing required documentation and communication relevant to the process of keeping all students safe</li> <li>organising assessments, interventions and ongoing review meetings with stakeholders</li> <li>promoting open communication and consultation between families, SCS and external stakeholders in support of student wellbeing within the school-based case management model.</li> </ul> <p><br><strong>Why work for Sydney Catholic Schools</strong><br> <br>In joining SCS, you will be part of the largest Catholic education community in NSW, with a unified vision and shared resources, encompassing over 145 schools and over 74,000 students. We focus on enabling a quality preschool to post-school learning journey for every child, supported by a team of dedicated educators and caregivers.<br> <br>In addition, we offer:</p> <ul> <li>a competitive salary of $158,811 per annum plus superannuation</li> <li>salary packaging of up to $15,900 annually</li> <li>up to 25% discount on school fees for parents of SCS students</li> <li>ongoing training and development opportunities</li> <li>discounts on gym classes and memberships, activewear, healthy meals, and wellbeing products</li> <li>ex-gratia leave between Christmas and New Year</li> <li>generous Employee Referral Program.</li> </ul> <p><strong>About you</strong><br> <br>We are seeking a compassionate, motivated and professional candidate with the following experience, skills and knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>a University Degree in Psychology Social Work, Counselling, Education or Teaching</li> <li>demonstrated minimum 5-years experience in any of the above disciplines</li> <li>membership in a relevant professional association</li> <li>strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain trust with all stakeholders</li> <li>highly organised with the ability to self-manage workload and priorities</li> <li>experience in, and demonstrated ability, leading staff in professional learning</li> <li>high order written, oral and presentation skills</li> <li>the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team</li> <li>current driver's licence.</li> </ul> <p>Desirable:</p> <ul> <li>a Postgraduate degree in Psychology, Psychotherapy, Education or another discipline</li> <li>experience with Google Workspace (Drive, Gmail etc)</li> <li>experience within a school environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Application process</strong><br><br>To apply for this position please click APPLY and follow the prompts.
