<p><b>Physical Education Teacher (full time, permanent) and Sports Coordinator<br /></b></p><p>(Sports Coordinator includes 1 day release time for administration plus allowance of $9,567.87 per annum) </p><p><b>About the Role </b></p><p>The PE program at Orana aims to activate all students towards a healthy lifestyle and to introduce them to a variety of sports in an enjoyable way. The emphasis is on good sportsmanship and healthy living rather than the competition. </p><p>Within the guidelines of the Australian Steiner Education Curriculum Framework, you will work creatively to plan, implement and monitor a quality educational program grounded solidly in the philosophy and principles of Steiner Education and in line with our core principles, vision, mission and values. </p><p>This role involves teaching Upper Primary and High School classes, Senior College (Classes 11 &amp; 12) Exercise Science and PE and Health programs. The position entails guiding students through a range of PE activities designed to foster understanding of cooperation, teamwork, effort, inclusivity, special awareness, and skills development. Additionally, the curriculum aims to broaden the spectrum of activities that students feel comfortable participating in, while also incorporating elements of physical health and personal development into the lessons. </p><p><b>About You </b></p><p>To be successful in this role, you will require: </p><ul><li>Teaching experience in the relevant subject areas, preferably spanning various year levels. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young people, and effectively engage with students, parents, teachers, volunteers, and support staff. </li><li>Proficiency in integrating technology into classroom practices. </li><li>Extensive knowledge of the ACARA PDHPE curriculum for Years 7 to 10 and BSSS for Senior College is desirable. </li><li>Familiarity with and experience in employing effective teaching and learning practices based on an inquiry model. </li><li>A willingness to participate in the School&#39;s pastoral and co-curricular programs. </li><li>Cultural understanding and respect for individuals from diverse backgrounds. </li><li>A strong commitment to student welfare. </li></ul><p>The right person for the job will: </p><ul><li>Be committed to ongoing professional development. </li><li>Be capable of delivering dynamic and effective lessons. </li><li>Be organised, energetic and self-directed. </li><li>Have a sharp and progressive vision of teaching and learning </li><li>Display an active interest and enthusiasm to engage with the Steiner curriculum. </li></ul><p><b>Qualifications </b></p><ul><li>Formal teaching qualifications, specialising in Health and Physical Education (PE). </li><li>First Aid certificate preferred. </li><li>Steiner training is desirable but not essential. </li></ul><p><b>Legal Requirements </b></p><ul><li>Current ACT TQI Registration or permit to teach. </li><li>Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WwVP) registration </li><li>National police check </li></ul><p><b>Salary and Conditions </b></p><p>Annual base salary plus Coordinator 1 allowance ($9,567.87) plus 11.5% superannuation. You will also have 1 day of release time for administration. </p><p>Our school operates under the Independent Schools NSW Teachers (Hybrid Model) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021.
