This position will support students attending the CAMHS Cottage (the Child and Adolescent Mental Cottage Day Program), located at the North Canberra Hospital. </p><p><b>This successful applicant will be responsible for : </b></p><ul><li>Developing learning experiences through inquiry-based learning, utilising creative pedagogical and differentiated learning approaches to support engagement of young people aged 13-18 years. </li><li>Working with families and home schools to keep children and young people connected to their learning and support transition plans to enrolled school or vocational pathway. </li><li>Supporting other aspects of the Cottage therapeutic program, including duty of care at activities and excursions. </li><li>Working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop positive and productive relationships with children and young people, working in an inclusive and trauma informed way </li><li>Establishing quality partnerships with the CAMHS staff to enhance the learning environment and provide an inclusive culture for all students from a wide range of diverse ages, backgrounds and health needs </li><li>Engaging in cross campus collaborations with the broader Flexible Education Team and support the delivery of education in other programs as required </li></ul><p><b>Eligibility/Other Requirements: </b></p><ul><li>A minimum of 4 years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification. </li><li>Current professional teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (or eligibility to obtain). </li><li>Current registration issued by Access Canberra under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011. </li></ul><p><b>Notes: </b>A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
