Supported by the Deputy Principal Head of Secondary School/Principal, this Pastoral role embraces both transformational and transactional leadership.

The position is broken up into two components: </p><p><b>The Head of Middle Years – Pastoral </b>provides leadership, direction, and supervision for the Middle Years of the Secondary School. Delegated responsibility of the day-to-day pastoral management of the Middle Years (7-9) of the College. The Pastoral Leadership component will be a <b>fixed term for 3 years</b> (approximately 0.6 FTE). </p><p><b>Middle School Teacher </b>component is a <b>permanent appointment</b>. The candidate must have the ability to teach at least one of the following Middle Years core subjects – English, Maths, Science and HASS (approximately 0.4 FTE). </p><p>The Pastoral role embraces both transformational and transactional leadership. Supported by the Deputy Principal Head of Secondary School/Principal the leadership component is responsible for: </p><ul><li>Promoting, developing and protecting the vision, beliefs, and ethos of the College. </li><li>Promoting educational excellence in all aspects of College life. </li><li>Pursuing the aims and projected outcomes of the College in the educational, cultural, physical, social and spiritual development of its students. </li><li>Collaborating with the Senior Leadership team in promoting a culture of continual improvement and in the development and implementation of school improvement initiatives which support the strategic priorities. </li><li>Overseeing and Developing the Pastoral Care program for Years 7-9 in consultation and collaboration with the Year Level Coordinators. </li></ul><p><b>Requirements: </b></p><ul><li>Must have a current Queensland College of Teacher registration (or be eligible for registration). </li><li>Extensive classroom teaching experience at Secondary School levels, including the implementation of effective teaching and learning strategies and Middle Years (school) experience. </li><li>Possess relevant tertiary qualifications </li><li>Hold current Senior First Aid and CPR qualifications.</li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
