Our vision gives shape to how we work together to support the development of our students and on which we are building our community.</p> <p><strong>About the Role&nbsp;</strong><br>The Early Childhood Teacher works as a part of a team striving for excellence in teaching and learning, where relationships and partnerships are nurtured and respected and where children feel safe and develop a strong sense of identity.&nbsp;</p> <div> <p><strong>Benefits and Opportunities&nbsp;</strong></p> </div> <ul> <li>A positive and collaborative workplace culture&nbsp;</li> <li>24 weeks of paid parental leave (maternity/adoption)&nbsp;</li> <li>Up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave (paternity/non-initial primary carer leave)&nbsp;</li> <li>Support for professional development and study opportunities&nbsp;</li> <li>Opportunities to transfer to other schools within the Archdiocese across ACT and NSW to support lifestyle choice</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Plan, implement and evaluate a high-quality preschool program guided by the Early Years Learning Framework in collaboration with other educators.</li> <li>Have a knowledge and understanding of nature, risky and play based learning.</li> <li>Review and evaluate the programs and services provided on a regular basis to ensure they are accessible and responsive to the needs of the community.</li> <li>Provide programs which enable the Preschool to meet the requirements of the CE policies and procedures, the ACT Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standards.</li> <li>Show care, respect, and a commitment to confidentiality in all interactions with children, staff, and families.</li> <li>Communicate with families about the preschool program through formal and informal discussions and regular written reports.</li> <li>Assess the developmental needs of children, including the need for referral to specialist services, and to provide information and advice for families.</li> <li>Participate and support within our wider community including the Primary School and Parish.</li> <li>Adhere to mandatory reporting and child protection legislative requirements.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential Criteria&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must have completed ACECQA Approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification.</li> <li>Teaching Accreditation (TQI).</li> <li>Must hold a Working with children registration (WWVP).</li> <li>Certificates in First Aid (HLTAID004) Asthma and Anaphylaxis.</li> <li>A willingness to support the ethos and mission of Catholic education.</li> <li>Knowledge of how to implement a high-quality educational program using the Early Years Learning Framework in conjunction with nature and risky play opportunities.</li> <li>Implementing an inclusive program based on recorded observations, analysis of learning and developmental needs of children.</li> <li>Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and a sense of responsibility and self-motivation with strong organisational skills.</li> <li>An understanding of the National Quality Standards and a commitment to</li> <li>contribute to the centres’ Quality Improvement Plan and centre philosophy</li> <li>Commitment and ability to work in a cohesive team.</li> <li>An understanding of the implications of legal, employment and child protection policies.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Other Eligibility Criteria&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible to apply for this position.&nbsp;</li> <li>Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with CECG policy.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <div> <p><strong>Application Process&nbsp;</strong></p> </div> <div> <p>Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and current resume including a statement of suitability against the skills, attributes, and experience as outlined in the Position Description.&nbsp;</p> </div> <div> <p>This position involves working with children.
