Under a canopy of trees, children tend to a menagerie, vegetable patches and play amongst self-built cubby spaces. The unhindered development of our children, academically, socially and emotionally, is the Preshil mission. It’s also our greatest achievement. A child’s potential is theirs to discover. Preshil will help them find it. </p><p>Primary School </p><p>We recognise the valuable role that staff play in the lives of children and we aim to nurture the educator, so that they can nurture the children. We are seeking vibrant, enthusiastic, motivated, passionate and experienced educators to join our team and our journey to continue to create outstanding programs for children. </p><p>Staff will be responsible for developing both short and long term projects with the children. This will involve organising and developing the learning environment and resources in order to facilitate learning. Teachers are inspired by the power of children to learn as they explore, investigate, question and discover through project work. </p><p>Staff are expected to develop and maintain warm and positive relationships with children, and develop respectful partnerships with parents/guardians to further support the children. They will be required to document the learning processes of the children. </p><p>General Responsibilities</p><p>Applicants should expect to be able to deliver the following:</p><p>To carry out professional duties and to have responsibility for assigned Art classes in the Primary School</p><p>To be responsible for the day-to-day learning and management of classes and the safety and welfare of the students, during on-site and off-site activities</p><p>To promote the aims and objectives of the school and maintain its philosophy of education</p><p>To demonstrate outstanding discipline-based knowledge and experience in Art across the Primary Years.</p><p>Maintain a regular system of planning, monitoring, feedback and assessment, record-keeping and reporting of students’ progress, including the use of the Compass learning management system</p><p><br /></p><p>Typical Activities </p><p>motivating and stimulating the children&#39;s learning abilities; </p><p>interacting with and supporting children, providing them with a secure environment to learn; devising and producing visual aids and teaching resources; </p><p>organising learning materials and resources, and making imaginative use of resources; </p><p>assisting with the development of children&#39;s personal/social and language abilities; </p><p>encouraging children&#39;s creative development through art practice;</p><p>developing children&#39;s curiosity and knowledge; </p><p>working with others to plan and coordinate work; </p><p>sharing knowledge gained with other practitioners and parents; </p><p>observing, assessing and recording each child&#39;s progress; </p><p>ensuring the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities; </p><p>continually learning and reflecting on current research in the area of Progressive Education and attending professional development when available.</p><p>Planning and development of Programs and Policies</p><p>Participate in all required school meetings, parent evenings and whole school training events</p><p>Contribute to the development and coordination of the art curriculum</p><p>Ensure that school policies are reflected in daily practice</p><p>Communication with Parents</p><p>Initiate communication and consultation with parents on a regular basis over all aspects of their children’s education – academic, social and emotional</p><p>Use a range of communication approaches including Seesaw, email, phone call, web platforms and meetings</p><p>Follow up with parents any concerns in regard to engagement, attendance, punctuality and behaviour</p><p>Diversity and Inclusion at Preshil</p><p>As a child safe organisation and an IB continuum school, we celebrate the rich diversity of our students, families and community and promote respectful environments that are free from discrimination. Our school undertakes several screening tests to ensure the appropriate protection of children in our care. This includes reference checks, identity checks, qualification checks and professional registration checks. </p><p><br /></p>
