The Accounts Officer supports the Finance and Resources Team who are responsible for Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga’s (CEDWW) taxation, treasury and group accounting matters and ensuring policies, procedures and internal controls are maintained for accounting and taxation compliance.

<p><b>Accounts Officer</b></p><p>Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga (CEDWW) assists 29 Catholic Primary and Secondary schools located throughout Regional NSW, to maximise student learning, growth and development. </p><p>CEDWW staff are responsible for providing on-going operational guidance and administrative assistance across the areas of Learning and Teaching, Student Wellbeing and Diverse Learning, Evangelisation and Religious Education, School and System Improvement, Finance and Resources, Information and Communication Technologies and People and Culture services.</p><p>To find out more about the Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga, click <a href="https://ww.catholic.edu.au/" rel="nofollow">here</a>. </p><p><b>What we can offer</b></p><ul><li>Full-Time Permanent Position</li><li>35-hour work week </li><li>10 days of additional discretionary leave on top of your annual leave </li><li>Discounted Bupa Health insurance </li><li>Annual Leave loading of 17.5% </li><li>Salary Packaging through Maxxia</li><li>Salary: Level 4 $64,085.10 - $78,347.08 base (dependent upon qualifications and experience)</li><li>Commencing as soon as possible or by mutual agreement</li></ul><p><b>Primary Purpose of the Position</b></p><p>This role exists to support the Finance and Resources Team who are responsible for Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga’s (CEDWW) taxation, treasury and group accounting matters and ensuring policies, procedures and internal controls are maintained for accounting and taxation compliance.</p><p>The Team supports the CEDWW’s core business of school education, providing best practice financial advice and services. These include financial accounting, management accounting, auditing, governance, taxation, budgeting and reporting, procurement to payments, revenue accounting, business strategy, banking relationships, investment funds and borrowings, and the management of special projects.</p><p>The role of the Accounts Officer exists to support CEDWW with all aspects of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions ensuring CEDWW meet their legal, financial and tax obligations.</p><p><b>Key Responsibilities </b><br /></p><ul><li>Supports the purpose, vision, and values of Catholic Education. </li><li>End to end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.</li><li>Process legitimate and accurate accounts payable invoices ensuring the coding of invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts.</li><li>Undertake bank upload processes to enable invoice payments. </li><li>Reconcile supplier statements</li><li>Reconcile intercompany accounts</li><li>Communicate with internal and external customers with regards to account queries</li><li>Actively engage in other duties as required by the Manager of Finance and Resources and the Accountant as part of training and succession planning requirements including:</li><li>Create and maintain a centralised creditors and debtors ensuring accuracy per ABN register, no duplication and adherence to related parties internal policy and procedures</li><li>Process and audit Corporate Credit Cards transactions</li><li>Process and reconcile the payroll payment file.</li><li>Undertake daily bank reconciliations</li><li>Generate monthly account statements</li><li>Follow up and undertake debt collection processes with customers as required</li><li>Communicate with internal and external customer account queries.</li><li>Assist with audit/compliance processes</li><li>Assist with month end and year end reporting processes.</li><li>Undertake special projects and succession planning as directed by the Manager of Finance and Resources.</li><li>Leading Policy and Procedure development, communication and adherence relating to Accounts Payable and Receivable</li><li>Liaise with CEDWW and School staff on account queries and provide Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable process support.</li><li>Train and support CEDWW and Schools in the Chart of Accounts and internal system processes.</li></ul><p><b>Essential Requirements</b></p><ul><li>3 years’ experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable</li><li>Proven understanding of GST and Fringe Benefits Tax</li><li>Well rounded financial skills</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products or Google Productivity Suite</li><li>Current Working with Children Check</li><li>Successful Candidate will need to pass a National Police Criminal History Check</li><li>Current Driver’s Licence</li></ul><p>Position Description Attached.</p><p><b>What is next? </b></p><p>If you are interested in this position and would like further information, please contact Meaghan Tait via email at <a href="mailto:taitm&#64;ww.catholic.edu.au" rel="nofollow">taitm&#64;ww.catholic.edu.au</a>  or phone 02 6937 0000.</p><p>Applicants should submit a covering letter (no more than two pages) outlining the skills and attributes they can bring to the role to <a href="mailto:recruitment&#64;ww.catholic.edu.au" rel="nofollow">recruitment&#64;ww.catholic.edu.au</a>.</p><p>If you are applying for this position you must complete a <a href="https://au1.documents.adobe.com/public/esignWidget?wid&#61;CBFCIBAA3AAABLblqZhC_CQNL8qVPEQi6OWnmoffVl4yQbSo6L6k5S0TgeIn9Q5IhYcnAXIw_iIHiRrYQ6mQ*" rel="nofollow">Pre-Employment Declaration</a> as part of CEDWW Recruitment requirements.
