<p><b>ABOUT US</b></p><p>Knox Grammar School is an independent, multi-campus Kindergarten to Year 12 day and boarding school for boys, located at Wahroonga on Sydney’s North Shore. In addition to the single-sex campuses, Knox also operates Wahroonga Preparatory School, a co-educational campus for students Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6.</p><p>A leading Uniting Church School, Knox aims to develop students of Faith, Wisdom, Integrity, Compassion and Courage within a caring Christian environment.</p><p><b>ABOUT THE ROLE</b></p><p>An opportunity has arisen for a Music Teacher at Wahroonga Preparatory School, a co-educational campus of Knox Grammar School for Pre-K to Year 6 students. This is a full time 12 month fixed term position, covering for parental leave, commencing Term 3, 2024. </p><p>We are looking for a Music Teacher who can demonstrate: -</p><ul><li>A variety of effective teaching strategies to engage students of varying abilities on their path to achieving specific learning outcomes. </li><li>Experience in the design, production and administration of various types and levels of assessments tasks.</li><li>Effective student management strategies for all levels of student ability and engagement.</li><li>Well-developed IT skills for:<br />(i)  Integration into classroom strategies<br />(ii) Departmental Teaching and Learning initiatives<br />(iii) Departmental administrative requirements</li><li>The desire to be a team player in a collegial department with high expectations of its members and of its students.</li></ul><p> <b>ROLE REQUIREMENTS</b></p><ul><li>An understanding of and familiarity with of the Kodály approach. </li><li>Attainment, or working towards attainment of the Australian Kodály Certificate is highly desirable.</li><li>Ability to design and teach a sequential class music program approach Pre-K-6.</li><li>Experience with running choirs, vocal ensembles and choral programs at a high standard.</li><li>Preparation for regular performances throughout the school year in addition to classroom teaching.</li><li>Excellent administrative, communication and organisational skills.</li><li>Piano accompaniment skills.</li></ul><p><i>As at February 2024, the salary for a Band 1 graduate teacher rose from $87,191 to $96,400 (11.31% above the AIS MEA) and the salary for the top of Scale Knox teacher has risen from $128,607 to $137,665 (12.19% above the AIS MEA).</i></p><p><b>HOW TO APPLY</b></p><p><b>Knox offers outstanding long-term career opportunities, is values driven and an equal opportunity employer. Knox encourages all qualified applicants to apply.</b></p><p>Before applying, please read the comprehensive role description found on our website:</p><p><a href="https://www.knox.nsw.edu.au/about/public-information/employment/" rel="nofollow">https://www.knox.nsw.edu.au/about/public-information/employment/</a></p><p>Please apply via SEEK by clicking the &#39;Apply for this Job&#39; button and attaching a current CV, covering letter outlining your suitability for the role and your academic transcript.</p><p><b>CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS</b></p><p>4.00pm Friday, 10 May 2024.</p><p>Please note that applications will be assessed as they are received, and interviews may be conducted prior to the closing date.</p><p>Knox Grammar School is committed to the safety, protection and wellbeing of all our students and children involved in activities at Knox.
