The College is currently seeking VCE teachers in all subject areas to be part of the inaugural Harkaway Hills College VCE program. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the curriculum development and formation of a new college of educational excellence.

<p><b> ABOUT US </b></p><p>Harkaway Hills College is an independent school teaching the Catholic faith, located in Narre Warren North. The College currently educates 300 students from Foundation to Year 9, and in 2025, the College will be running classes for Year 10, including Unit 1 and 2 VCE subjects. Each coming year, the College will be opening a new year level, through to Grade 12. </p><p>The College is a project of the Parents for Education (PARED) Victoria Foundation, and is founded on the principles that parents are the primary educators of their children, and that schools exist to support parents in this role. This support is found in the quality of the academic curriculum, in the way that staff work with students and parents in a unique mentoring program, in the emphasis on character development and virtues in the curriculum, and in the concern that staff and peer example be fully positive and supportive of parents. </p><p>The College is currently seeking VCE teachers in all subject areas to be part of the inaugural Harkaway Hills College VCE program. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the curriculum development and formation of a new college of educational excellence. </p><p>The College is aiming to offer the following subjects for VCE, pending student selection: </p><p>• English </p><p>• Literature </p><p>• English Language </p><p>• General Mathematics </p><p>• Mathematical Methods </p><p>• Specialist Mathematics </p><p>• Biology </p><p>• Chemistry </p><p>• Physics </p><p>• History </p><p>• Geography </p><p>• Economics </p><p>• Drama </p><p>• Music </p><p>• Visual Arts </p><p>• Spanish </p><p>• Health and Physical Education </p><p><b>Teachers who are qualified in VCE subject areas that are not listed above are welcome to submit an application for consideration. </b></p><p><b>ROLE DESCRIPTION </b></p><p><b>Reports to: </b>Principal </p><p><b>Job Type:</b> Full-time and Part-time opportunities available </p><p><b>Work Eligibility:</b> Permitted to work permanently with no restriction on hours </p><p>All College staff are expected to reflect the vision, mission and values of PARED Victoria in the way that they perform their role, and in the relationships they form with all members of the school community. A commitment to modelling the teachings and values of the Catholic faith is essential. </p><p><b>SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES </b></p><p>• Understanding of and commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of PARED Vic. </p><p>• Commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the College. </p><p>• Qualifications to teach Catholic Education is advantageous. </p><p>• Current VIT registration and Working with Children Check (essential) </p><p>• First Aid Certificate Level 2 minimum (essential) </p><p>• Appropriate qualifications in relevant subject areas for VCE (essential) </p><p>• At least 2 years of VCE teaching experience. </p><p>• High level of professional personal presentation. </p><p>• High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team. </p><p>• Strong organisational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, work well under pressure and manage competing tasks with a high level of attention to detail. </p><p>• Flexibility and ability to operate effectively in a changing environment. </p><p>• Willingness to assist with a variety of tasks associated with the foundation years of a new school. </p><p>• Openness and flexibility to teach subjects in lower Secondary if required. </p><p>• The ability to teach a variety of subject areas is advantageous. </p><p>• Demonstrated commitment to their own professional learning to build capacity. </p><p>• Evident passion, energy and enthusiasm for specific subject areas. </p><p>• Commitment to delivering a high standard of education. </p><p>• A clear commitment to engage with the local community and develop relationships with key stakeholders. </p><p>Child safety: It is an expectation that every staff member is committed to the safeguarding of children, and complies with the school’s Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy, Code of Conduct and any other policies or procedures relating to child safety. </p><p><b>APPLICATION </b></p><p>Please email your application to Mary Broadsmith, Principal of Harkaway Hills College, via employment&#64;harkawayhills.vic.edu.au, or contact the Principal by calling the School Office: (03) 9798 9621. </p><p>All applications must include a cover letter, resume and at least two references.
