**Purpose of the position:** * To coach & mentor 26 (current) Basketball teams, ranging from Kindergarten to Year 6 - boys and girls. * To assist with the development and growth of Sacred Heart Sports Club Mosman’s Basketball Program. **Responsibilities:** * To be responsible for all aspects of organisation relating to the Team/s coached, which includes the development and implementation of a training program tailored to each team of varying standards. * Overseeing the wellbeing of team members and work with the volunteer parent coaches and managers for each team. * Key relationships; President and Basketball Committee of SHM, key administrators at NSBA, Principal and teaching staff SHM, Volunteer coaches, other associations like the BBNSW (ongoing coaching courses etc) * Assisting with other duties as defined by the school, such as the annual Catholic Primary Schools (CPS) State Basketball Challenge. * Available for the Summer Season, Term 1 (February - April) and Term 4 (September - December) * Available Saturday for games at Mosman, Crows Nest, Lane Cove, Cremorne & Willoughby, between the hours of 8am – 8pm (maximum 7 hours) * Available for training days, Monday – Friday 7.00am – 8.20am. Monday – Wednesday 3pm – 5pm. Thursday 3pm – 4pm. * Not required to work during NSW school holidays. * Available to assist the volunteer parent Coaches at training days for their teams and game times, as required. * Instruct players of the rules, regulations, equipment and techniques of the sport. * Maintains the sports equipment room in orderly condition and assumes responsibility for its security. **Stakeholder Management:** * Liaising with the key Basketball Rep from the SHM basketball committee, liaise with volunteer basketball coaches, form close working relationship with the NSBA and also works with the SHM Sports teacher/Coordinator & the SHM Sports Club Committee. **Helpful Personal attributes and skills:** * Professional attitude and work ethic * Driven by strong ethics and values, is open, honest and accountable for their actions * Strong organisational skills * The capacity to be an efficient organiser with effective interpersonal skills, and the ability to be discreet in communicating with a diverse array of adults, young adults, adolescents and children. * Ability and desire to bring good leadership and communication to inspire development and success in the players being coached. * The ability and willingness to work collaboratively with NSBA and the Sacred Heart Sports Club Mosman. **Qualifications:** * Basketball Australia Community Coach Accreditation – Club Coach Course * Working with Children Check * Current Driver’s License * Current police check * Level 1 First Aid * Anaphylaxis Certification
