<p>The Director of Schools, Diocese of Wollongong, invites Expression of Interests from suitably experienced Catholic educators for this significant leadership position at Mount Carmel Catholic College commencing 29 January 2019.</p> <p>The Religious Education Coordinator at Mount Carmel Catholic College is a member of the School Leadership Team and contributes to the religious leadership of the school. The successful applicant will be responsible for:</p> <ul type="square"> <li>The coordination and leadership of the Religious Education staff in the implementation of the learning, teaching and assessment programs.</li> <li>The direction of the school’s liturgical life and mission and justice programs.</li> <li>Fostering communication with parish clergy</li> </ul> <p>The role of the Religious Education Coordinator in a Wollongong Diocesan Catholic school requires a person to show evidence of:</p> <ul type="square"> <li>being an active and committed Catholic</li> <li>a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of a Catholic school within the broader evangelising mission of the Catholic Church</li> <li>exemplary teaching and an ability to articulate a contemporary Catholic pedagogy</li> <li>collaborative leadership experience</li> <li>well-developed interpersonal skills</li> <li>having a qualification in Religious Education (Certificate of RE or equivalent) which meets Level D Accreditation requirements in line with the Policy ‘Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong’</li> <li>either holding (or having an immediate commitment to gain) a further postgraduate qualification in Religious Education/Theology/Spirituality/Catholic Leadership aligned to Level E Accreditation requirements.</li> </ul> <p>An ability to teach Studies of Religion would be an advantage for this position.</p> <p>Applicants who are already successful leaders in their schools or offices and are seeking senior leadership or a change of schools should submit a&nbsp;short Expression of Interest,&nbsp;briefly addressing the essential criteria and a current Curriculum Vitae addressed to Carolyn Hadley, Head of Human Resource Services.
