**Monte Sant' Angelo Mercy College is an independent school for girls in years 7 - 12. Heritage buildings and landscaped grounds provide an attractive educational environment.** An exellent opportunity has become available for a Finance Manager to join the dynamic business office of the College. This is a diverse role with direct responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the day to day accounting functions of the College. The Finance Manager is expected to demonstrate functional oversight, plus coaching and mentoring of the Accounts staff in relation to their accounting and financial duties. The role has considerable contact with the College community, including the College Executive, board committees, teaching and support staff as well as external stakeholders (i.e. parents, bank, auditors and suppliers). In this role you will be working closely with and reporting directly to the Director, Finance & Resources. Key responsibilities include: * Responsible for the daily financial operations of the College including management of ongoing finance functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. * Financial management of the College including management and preparation of monthly management accounts, annual statutory accounts and audit working papers, government financial and census reporting, grant applications, annual budgets and forecasting * Ensuring that the College meets all of its business and financial statutory requirements and reporting obligations * Continuous improvement of accounting systems and controls * Attend to tax compliance requirements including FBT, GST, BAS & PAYG * Other responsibilities as required Must have: * A relevant tertiary qualification and membership of a professional association (CA/CPA) * A strong working knowledge of all aspects of financial operations, statutory requirements and compliance obligations * Ability to meet deadlines, prioritise tasks and achieve results in a timely manner * An ability to deal with a wide range of stakeholders often regarding challenging issues * A commitment to collaborative leadership and decision making and able to actively manage both staff and processes * Experience with accounting processes and systems as well as experience handling complex, technical, accounting transactions This is a full-time, ongoing position.
