This is a senior role within the College's structure. he incumbent is a member of the College's Pastoral Board and as such would be required to work closely with the College's Executive. A recent restructure has enabled the allocation of two additional Assistant Deputy Principals, each responsible for the academic and pastoral care of a year level and other College key responsibilities. These responsibilities will be allocated based on determined strengths and suitability of the successful applicant. The incumbent will be given the opportunity to develop their leadership by moving through year levels cyclically, within a designated time frame.

This role is positioned within the College organisational area described as “Students” and which comprises of the Deputy Principal – Students, Directors of Students, Heads of House and students of a specific Year group. The Director of Students has responsibility for the academic and pastoral welfare of students in a Year group and is also responsible for the co-ordination of his/her Year level events (e.g. OLNA). ROLES AND RESPONSIBILTIES: One of the key requirements for this role is the ability to be able to establish and build positive relationships between and with the students themselves, their teachers and their parents. A high level of organisational ability is required to ensure the smooth running of the Year group and to create and maintain accurate records pertaining to student achievements and behaviours. The incumbent should have current knowledge of the Year appropriate academic requirements, a working knowledge of MAZE (and SEQTA) and an understanding of future pathways for students. The incumbent is expected to have completed Accreditation to teach Religious Education or be nearing completion of this qualification, and/or be working towards completing Accreditation for Leadership. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: - Minimum of a post graduate degree in education - Minimum of 5 years teaching experience - Have completed Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School. - Have completed Accreditation to teach Religious Education or be nearing completion of this qualification, and/or be working towards completing Accreditation for Leadership. - Current registration with Teachers Registration Board WA - Current Working with Children Check Presentation Requirement As part of the interview process, shortlisted applicants will be asked to prepare a presentation of 5-7 minutes duration. Applicants may choose their own focus in response to one of the presentation directions below. Presentation 1: Please share a school based educational achievement of which you are particularly proud. You may have achieved this on your own or as part of a team. Presentation 2: Please share your knowledge and experience of a contemporary educational practice, which is of interest to you.
