Contract Type: Permanent/Ongoing Position Part Time (0.92 FTE)

Boarding Supervisors support the school in meeting its responsibilities of Duty of Care. Boarding Supervisors are expected to support and uphold the aims and policies of the Boarding House through example, attitude and genuine interest in its activities.

<p>Commencing 15th October 2018</p><p><b>POSITION DESCRIPTION </b></p><p>Boarding Supervisors contribute to the life of the Boarding House and are expected to be strong role models with whom the Boarders can relate in a positive way. </p><p> It is expected that Boarding Supervisors will: </p><p>• Have effective communication, listening and organisation skills </p><p>• Have a good understanding and tolerance of teenagers </p><p>• Model a professional image at all times; especially in areas of personal hygiene, attire, punctuality and attendance </p><p>• Be a representative of the school to parents and the community </p><p>• Maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to the school </p><p>• Be able to work as a member of the team </p><p>• Adhere to School guidelines and policies for the appropriate management of student care, behaviour and property, at all times. </p><p> <b>SELECTION CRITERIA </b></p><p>• The ability to respond effectively, calmly and with understanding to difficult and sometimes stressful situations, eg. Homesickness, health emergencies and moral difficulties encountered when dealing with adolescents is required. </p><p>• A pleasant disposition and an ability to communicate with young people from all backgrounds is essential. </p><p>• An understanding of and commitment to Catholic Education </p><p>• Current Anaphylaxis qualification </p><p>• Current CPR qualifications </p><p>• Light rigid bus licence </p><p>• Current First Aid Certificate <br /></p><p>• Previous boarding supervision experience preferred </p><p>• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills </p><p>• Knowledge and understanding of working with students, preferably high school age. </p><p>• Application of a Restorative Justice process. </p><p>The successful candidate will be required to have a current or be prepared to undertake the Working with Children and Criminal History Checks and to undergo a pre-employment function assessment.  </p><p>The position description is attached.</p><p>Applications close and should be received by <b>close of business</b> on <b>21 September 2018</b>. </p><p> Further information can be obtained by contacting: </p><p>Mrs Leanne Allen, Business Manager on 02 6953 3622 </p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>
