We value the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of non-English speaking background communities within the College community and the importance of delivering high quality language learning to enable students to respond positively to the opportunities and challenges of this rapidly changing world.</p><p>Commencing in January 2019, we have a tremendous opportunity to join our middle leadership team as the Languages Coordinator and become an integral member of our vibrant faith and learning community. Reporting directly to the Director of Curriculum, you will be a highly experienced and accomplished educator, able to provide proactive, high quality leadership and management, balanced with a genuine love of languages, while supporting the promotion of an inclusive education for all students, irrespective of ability. This is a 2 point paid position with commensurate time release.</p><p>This is a dynamic role requiring exceptional communication, interpersonal and organisational skills together with an ability to prioritise and work autonomously. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will inspire, motivate and lead the pursuit of excellence in the pedagogies of teaching, contemporary teaching methodologies, differentiation of the curriculum, learning and assessment, classroom management, and professional development strategies to build the capability and capacity of the team.</p><p>To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate you satisfy the following selection criteria:</p><p><b>Essential Criteria</b></p><ul><li>A working understanding of, and commitment to the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.</li><li>Qualified to teach Italian and French (Stage 4 to Stage 6).</li><li>Capacity to teach Stage 6 Italian and French – Beginners, Continuers and Extension Courses.</li><li>Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner.</li><li>Experience in differentiation of curriculum.</li><li>Ability to provide proactive, high quality leadership and management of a department.</li><li>Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.</li></ul><p><b>Desirable Criteria</b></p><ul><li>Postgraduate qualifications (in leadership, education, religious education or theology).</li></ul><p>To express your interest in joining our highly motivated and professional Teaching staff please apply in writing, including a cover letter, resume outlining relevant qualifications experience, statement addressing the selection criteria (no more than 2 pages), academic transcripts, and at least three referees, together with a current Working with Children number and date of birth for Working with Children Check verification to: The Principal at: employment&#64;spc.nsw.edu.au - MS Word and PDF attachments are preferred.</p><p><i>As part of the selection process, candidates who are shortlisted following their interview may be required to deliver a lesson to showcase their exceptional teaching ability.</i></p><p>A working understanding of, and a commitment to the Catholic ethos of a school in the Edmund Rice tradition, a valid Working with Children clearance and participation in the co-curricular program, are essential conditions of employment.</p><p>Further inquiries can be directed to the Human Resources Leader on 02 8705 9295.</p><p>To apply for this exciting opportunity, please submit your application by <b>Friday 5 October 2018.</b></p>
