<p><b>The College Counsellor will: </b></p><p>• provide counselling and support primarily to students but also to staff. </p><p>• provide information and referral to students and parents in relation to student and staff mental health and wellbeing. </p><p>• conduct intake assessments and assess for mental health and other behavioural concerns. </p><p>• maintain accurate and up to date client notes and written communications. </p><p>• contribute to the planning and delivery of wellbeing initiatives (including group programs) for students and parents/caregivers, eg: Peer Support Program. </p><p>• liaise with the Principal, and teaching staff to ensure holistic support for students and staff. </p><p>• liaise and collaborate with external services to support students in a case management approach. </p><p>• Develop intervention plans eg: risk assessment &amp; safety plans, return to school attendance plans and behavioural support plans. </p><p><b>The successful applicant will: </b></p><p>• support the Christian ethos of the College. </p><p>• be able to demonstrate experience working with adolescents and their families in areas of mental health and behaviour issues. </p><p>• be able to work individually and as part of a wellbeing team. </p><p>• develop intervention plans for students </p><p>• demonstrate a high standard of oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills. </p><p>• have a current Working with Children check. </p><p>Registration as a Psychologist or Social worker with AHPRA will be well regarded. </p><p>Visit www.goodnews.vic.edu.au for a position description and further details about the school.
