Grace Lutheran College invites applicants who will contribute to our Christian ethos to teach and instruct STEM short courses that engage and improve student learning both locally and internationally in a challenging problem based learning environment.

<p>Grace External Learnings is an outward facing program run under Grace Lutheran College&#39;s &#34;Grace Innovation and Enterprise&#34; initiative. Grace External Learnings (GXL) aspires to offer innovative short courses to members of the local, national and global community.</p><p><strong>Responsible to</strong>: Manager of Enterprise, Innovation and Technology</p><p><strong>Position type:</strong> Permanent Part-time, 2 x 6 week programs per year (January - February and July - August, involving 8 hour days) and additional workshops (including some weekend work) to approximately 14 weeks per year total.</p><p>Over time, GXL courses will expand to include a broad spectrum of content to engage learning across a wide range of interests whereby this role may expand into other instructor opportunities.<br /></p><p><strong>Anticipated Commencement Date:</strong> Monday 1 July 2019</p><p><strong>Qualifications, Certifications and Work-related Experience:</strong><br /></p><ol><li>Demonstrated ability to instruct and/or teach;</li><li>Experience or a willingness to learn LEGO EV3 coding and robotics;</li><li>Experience with international students, desirable;</li><li>Accredited teacher and/or accredited with Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110), desirable;</li><li>Demonstrated competence and confidence in using a personal computer and relevant software packages eg Microsoft Word and Excel;</li><li>Working with Children accreditation (Blue Card) or ability to obtain this accreditation.</li></ol><p>Important: All positions vacant require the applicant to address (in writing) the following Selection Criteria.</p><p><strong>Selection Criteria:</strong></p><ol><li><strong>Ethos:</strong> Demonstrated commitment to the ethos, Christian values and teachings of the College. </li><li> <strong>Qualifications and Job-specific Skills:</strong> Demonstrated skills and relevant qualifications to fulfil the position advertised.</li><li> <strong>Interpersonal Skills:</strong> Demonstrated personal and interpersonal skills that enhance positive relationships with all members of the community. Very good communication skills; in the first instance verbal, and very good written skills where required.</li><li><strong>Service Focus:</strong> Evidence of a clear service focus; Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines within competing work demands, while maintaining excellent customer service and team harmony.</li><li> <strong>Initiative and Flexibility:</strong> Demonstrated levels of initiative, efficiency, perseverance and flexibility necessary to contribute to a learning community which values teamwork and the achievement of excellent outcomes at all levels of the organisation. </li><li> <strong>Organisational Awareness:</strong> Demonstrated commitment to the central mission of an organisation.
