<p><b>The Opportunity </b></p><p>As the Head of Inclusive Education, the successful candidate will </p><p>• Demonstrate experience working within a Special Education field. </p><p>• Be responsible for promoting an inclusive educational environment. </p><p>• Manage and mentor the Inclusive Education department for Distance Education and Day Schools (P-12), including a team of Inclusive Education Teachers and Learning Support Aides (LSA). </p><p>• Coordinate and monitor effective implementation of evidence-based teaching and learning interventions to support students with special needs that are consistent with Government regulations, the College pedagogy, relevant syllabi, curriculum policy and work programs. </p><p>• Create a vision that fosters the holistic development of all students. </p><p> </p><p><b>The Role</b> </p><p>The successful candidate will have responsibility for: </p><p>• Administration of and adherence to relevant policies and procedures, including legislative requirements for students with disability, children in care and Indigenous students. </p><p>• Administration of the National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD). </p><p>• Administration of the Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA) and Independent Schools of Queensland (ISQ) requirements, and local procedures for students with disability. </p><p>• Administration of NAPLAN for students requiring adjustments, in collaboration with the NAPLAN School Administrator. </p><p>• Liaise with Executive on matters of inclusive education. </p><p>• Manage the Inclusive Education department, including staff leave requests, professional development, LSA timetable scheduling and the Middle and Senior College Hub. </p><p>• Case management support of identified students within Distance Education and Day Schools. </p><p>• Administration of the Inclusive Education department budget, including the coordination of relevant and appropriate resources for students with disability.  </p><p>• Liaise with relevant stakeholders regarding disciplinary action for students with disability. </p><p>• Liaise with the College Nurse to monitor medical advice changes and review the effect on funding eligibility. </p><p>• Identification of Gifted and Talented students and implementation of evidence-based teaching and learning interventions to support these students </p><p>• Other requirements at the discretion of the Executive. </p><p> </p><p><b>Requirements for the Role  </b></p><p>• Qualifications in teaching are essential. </p><p>• Qualifications and demonstrated experience in a Special Education field. </p><p>• A solid understanding of the Disability Discrimination Act and the Disability Standards for Education. </p><p>• Experience in leading a school/educational team in an Inclusive Education environment preferable. </p><p>• It is essential the applicant possesses strong Christian character and is supportive of the College Christian values. </p><p>• Riverside is committed to safe and supportive work practices that reduce the risk of harm to children, thus applicants must possess a current QCT registration. </p><p>• Applicants will be subject to police and referee checks, identification verification and the requirement to disclose any information relevant to the candidates&#39;
