Our beautiful College offers P-12 Day School and Distance Education and we are seeking a Head of Inclusive Education to join our dedicated team.

<p><b>The Opportunity </b></p><p>As an Inclusive Education Teacher, the successful candidate will: </p><p>• Demonstrate experience working within a Special Education field.  </p><p>• Plan, prepare and deliver quality and effective programs to support students with special needs that are consistent with Government regulations, the College pedagogy, relevant syllabi, curriculum policy and work programs.  </p><p>• Manage a team of Learning Support Aides (LSA).  </p><p>• Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues. </p><p>• Meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.  </p><p> </p><p><b>The Role </b></p><p>The successful candidate will have responsibility for: </p><p>• Assist Head of Inclusive Education to maintain processes to receive funding for students with disability. </p><p>• Collaborating with parents, carers and teachers to produce Support Plans and ESPs. </p><p>• Assist Head of Inclusive Education to complete verification documentation and reviews for students with disability. </p><p>• Assist in completion of National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) processes for students with disability. </p><p>• Supporting students with a wide range of difficulties and disabilities in the classroom where required. </p><p>• Assisting teachers with providing in-class adjustment to students, appropriate to their needs. </p><p>• Liaising with specialist personnel to provide services to individual students. </p><p>• Supporting LSA and other Inclusive Education staff in carrying out their tasks successfully. </p><p>• Complying with school procedures, policies and practices, including workplace health and safety. </p><p> <br /></p><p><b>Requirements for the Role </b><br /></p><p>• Qualifications in Teaching are essential. </p><p>• Qualifications and or demonstrated experience in a Special Education field preferred. </p><p>• It is essential the applicant possesses strong Christian character and is supportive of the College Christian values. </p><p>• Riverside is committed to safe and supportive work practices that reduce the risk of harm to children, thus applicants must possess a current QCT registration. </p><p>• Applicants will be subject to police and referee checks, identification verification and the requirement to disclose any information relevant to the candidates&#39; eligibility to engage in activities including young people. </p><p> </p><p><b>Personal Qualities </b><br /></p><p>• Empathy with the ethos of a Christian College. </p><p>• Personable, friendly and good humoured. </p><p>• Work and live to high standards. </p><p>• A team player who is respectful to colleagues. </p><p>• A commitment to respect and maintain confidentiality. </p><p> </p><p><b>We offer  </b></p><p>• A professional environment where you will be valued, respected and encouraged to be creative. </p><p>• A suitable remuneration package that is commensurate with your ability, qualifications and experience. </p><p>• Professional development opportunities. </p><p>• The opportunity to be a part of a professional organisation focussed on providing quality services. </p><p>• A supportive environment where collaboration is fostered. </p><p> </p><p><b>Selection Criteria  </b></p><p>• Demonstrated experience working with students with disabilities. </p><p>• Demonstrated experience in collaborative planning to support teachers in an inclusive environment. </p><p>• Demonstrated experience in implementing effective learning support programs. </p><p>• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to families, students and colleagues including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills.  </p><p> </p><p>To apply please email your application to <a href="mailto:recruitment&#64;riverside.qld.edu.a " rel="nofollow">recruitment&#64;riverside.qld.edu.au </a>ensuring you&#39;ve included a cover letter addressing the selection criteria, current resume and referee details by 5pm, 16th June 2019.   </p><p>To request a copy of the position description please email <a href="mailto:recruitment&#64;riverside.qld.edu.au" rel="nofollow">recruitment&#64;riverside.qld.edu.au</a>.</p><p> </p><p><br /></p>
