<h4>Stage 4 Technology and Stage 5 and 6 Textiles  </h4><h5>(Temporary, Part-Time)</h5><p>Wenona is seeking a dynamic and passionate TAS teacher to join our outstanding TAS faculty. This is a high performing faculty and one that continues to focus on delivering the best TAS outcomes for the girls at Wenona, and this is an exciting opportunity to join the TAS team.</p><p>This is a temporary part-time maternity leave position commencing late Term 3 2019 until the end of Term 4, 2020.</p><h4>Selection Criteria</h4><ul><li>Qualifications and experience teaching Mandatory Technology (Stage 4)</li><li>Ability to teach Textiles Technology in Year 9 and 10 and Textiles and Design in Years 11 and 12.</li><li>Ability to challenge our students to work creatively within the field of textiles with an understanding of the latest technologies in fabric and garment production.</li><li>Work with students on a range of themed projects to develop skill and knowledge of textiles applications</li><li>Ability to teach and aspire to the standards articulated in the Wenona Effective Teaching Cycle</li><li>Strong knowledge of NESA curriculum, HSC assessment practices and marking processes, including developments with Australian Curriculum implementation in NSW</li><li>A commitment to pastoral care and meeting the social and emotional wellbeing needs of students</li><li>An ongoing commitment to professional learning, including making a contribution to the broader education community</li><li>An understanding of and commitment to the educational needs of young women</li><li>A commitment to collaborative teaching practices and an ability to contribute to a team and faculty of professional educators</li><li>A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school community</li><li>An ability to use ICT to facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement beyond the classroom</li></ul><h4>Education and Experience</h4><ul><li>Qualifications and experience teaching TAS 7-12, with experience and / or capacity to teach Textiles Technology and Design</li><li>NESA Accreditation</li><li>Strong knowledge of NESA curriculum, HSC assessment practices and marking processes, including developments with Australian Curriculum implementation in NSW</li><li>NSW Working with Children Check</li></ul><h4>Personal Attributes</h4><ul><li>Excellent communication skills, with an ability to engage and communicate with all stakeholders including students, parents and staff</li><li>Ability to be solutions focused and data-driven in all decision making</li><li>Desire to use flexibility and creativity in day-to-day activities</li><li>A sense of humour</li></ul><p>Wenona is an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion, sexual orientation or age.</p><h4>General conditions of the role</h4><p><b>Award &amp; Classification</b></p><p>Independent Schools NSW (Teacher’s ) MEA 2015 – 2017 Award</p><p><b>Hours of work</b></p><p>Temporary, Part-time</p><p><b>Reporting Line</b></p><p>All positions report to the Principal. Some of these duties will need to be performed at times outside of normal classroom teaching hours, including weekends.
