<p>3 years commencing in 2020</p><p>Teachers interested in the Mathematics Focus Teacher role will need to have a conversation with the Principal to seek their endorsement and to be provided with information regarding the FTE allocation for the school.  <br /></p><p>Teachers are to provide a letter of application addressing the essential requirements outlined in the position description (maximum 2 pages). </p><p><b>RESPONSIBILITIES </b><br /></p><p>The Maths Focus Teacher: </p><ul><li> Ensures the school maintains a focus on the collection of Mathematics Assessment Interview (MAI) data (K-6) and the analysis and use of this data to inform teaching and learning for all students. </li><li> Oversees the Year 1 Extending Mathematical Understanding (EMU) Intervention Program using MAI data to identify vulnerable learners and to support the trained Intervention Teachers in the organisation and administration of the program.  </li><li>Train as the Years 3-6 EMU Intervention Teacher and implement intervention sessions for identified vulnerable learners. This will then be shared with Stage 2 and 3 classroom teachers to improve the quality of tier one teaching in primary classrooms.   </li></ul><p> </p><p><b>POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS </b></p><p> </p><p>(a) Essential Requirements </p><p>1. A thorough knowledge and understanding of the NSW K-10 Mathematics Syllabus. </p><p>2. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work within a team and be open and flexible to new ideas and practices. </p><p>3.
