The College Chaplain reports directly to the Principal and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The position is a key leadership role in ensuring quality wellbeing outcomes to students and staff across the College. The College Chaplain is required to fulfil the mission of the College in developing students who are caring, compassionate and motivated to serve others with their strengths. They are required to have a strong commitment to the Christian faith, with a deep understanding of the psychological development of young children in order to deliver programs which equip students to flourish.

<p>Suitably qualified and experienced applicants are encouraged to apply for the permanent position of Chaplain commencing in Term 1, 2020. This position operates Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm, (some outside hours of work may be necessary on occasion).<br /><br />This role is primarily responsible for providing pastoral care support to primary and secondary school students.<br /><br />The successful applicant will meet the position selection criteria, some of which include:<br /><br />- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the ethos of Lutheran colleges<br />- Minimum certificate IV education or higher, in field of study relevant to Chaplaincy with competence in Pastoral Care and    an awareness of current issues;<br />- Ability to build meaningful relationships with children, young people, parents and staff;<br />- Ability to work effectively within a team and autonomously;<br />- Able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all levels;<br />- High level record keeping and reporting abilities;<br />- Proven experience relevant to the position.<br /><br />Good Shepherd Lutheran College is fully committed to the protection of children. The successful applicant must hold a WWCC Card (or able to apply) and National Police Clearance (no more than 6 months old).<br /></p>
