Permanent part time opportunity (30 hours per week) in providing care and support for students living in the Girls’ Boarding House.

<p>Commencing ideally at the commencement of Term 3, we are seeking a Housemother to nurture, care and support our students living in the Girls’ Boarding House. In this role you will be responsible to support the Head of Girls’ Boarding in the pastoral and practical in loco parentis care of the boarding students. </p><p>Hours of duty: due to the nature of a boarding program, the hours required for this position are worked across a split shift Monday to Friday during term times only. Appropriate award penalties apply. <br /></p><ul><li>Monday to Thursday 7.00am – 9:30am and 2:45pm - 6:30pm <br /></li><li>Friday 7.00am – 9:30 and 6:30pm – 9:00pm </li></ul><p>Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to: </p><ul><li>Maintain a caring, responsible presence for boarding students, guiding students in establishing and maintaining daily routines, cleanliness, correct uniform, positive behaviours, etc </li><li>Provide pastoral care for individual boarding students, developing positive and caring relationship by taking the time to listen and show genuine care </li><li>Provide practical care and supervision for the students, conducting daily checks of rooms and oversee laundry services </li><li>Keep proper medical and leave records as per school guidelines </li><li>Liaise with other boarding staff and school nurses regarding the care of students </li><li>When required, make and acccompany students to appointments </li><li>Attend and supervise other boarding functions, such as House dinners, other House occasions and socials. </li><li>Work with other boarding staff in developing a House ethos and character which recognises the worth of each student as an individual and creates a sense of belonging for all members. </li></ul><p> Suitable candidates will need to demonstrate knowledge of and sensitivity to issues relevant to contemporary adolelscents with an ability to resolve conflict, solve problems, conduct difficult negotiations and provide constructive advice and assistance.
