As a Curriculum Resources Writer, you understand how a teacher thinks and what they need in their classroom in order to equip and inspire their students. You’ll be responsible for writing and refining curriculum resources and materials that are aligned with Australians Together’s guidelines and that teachers will want to use. You’ll write curriculum resources that meet AITSL Teaching Standards 1.4 and 2.4 and that assist teachers to deliver the Australian Curriculum’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures cross-curriculum priority. You’ll be writing for Foundation through to Year 7 in either English, science or HASS. To ensure the accuracy and relevance of the resources, the role includes consultation with writers and First Nations cultural experts as required.

You’re a stickler for spelling and grammar and have an excellent eye for detail. </li><li>a curriculum expert: You’re familiar with the Australian Curriculum and AITSL Standards. You know what will engage students and meets the needs of teachers. </li><li>a researcher lover: You love fact finding and assessing sources for quality and relevance. </li><li>a fast learner: You keep your cool while adapting to change, learning on the fly and facing challenges. We’re relatively new to this sector, so we’re still learning as we produce our resources. </li><li>proactive and responsive: You’re enthusiastic with a can-do approach. You can work independently and as part of a team. With your great time-management skills, you can plan effectively to get things done. </li></ul><p> </p><p><br /></p><p>KEY REQUIREMENTS </p><ul><li>A tertiary qualification in education gained in the last 15 years </li><li>Experience writing and teaching school curriculum for Reception/Foundation to Year 7 in the last 3 years </li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills </li><li>Proficient computer skills, especially MS Word </li></ul><p> </p><p><br /></p><p>DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS </p><ul><li>Experience writing English, science and/or HASS curriculum </li><li>Experience working with Indigenous or other non-dominant cultural communities </li><li>Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team </li><li>Excellent organisational skills </li><li>Strong relationship-building skills </li></ul><p><br /></p>
