Catherine McAuley Catholic College is seeking a permanent full time Leader of Learning with responsibility for English and HSIE to commence in Term 4, 2020. This position attracts an allowance at the level of Coordinator 2. Learning at CMCC is underpinned by the NPDL framework and commitment to the development of the six global competencies. Catherine McAuley Catholic College has its foundation year in 2021 with an initial intake of Stage 4. In the formative years Leaders of Learning positions will be multi-disciplinary and will evolve into discreet roles (i.e Leader of Learning HSIE and Leader of Learning English) as school enrolments develop. The College is located in the beautiful Port Stephens region and can provide the ideal coastal or semi-rural lifestyle for those considering a sea change. Medowie is only 34km from the Newcastle CBD and within an hour’s drive to the stunning Hunter Valley area.

This Leader of Learning position has specific responsibility for leadership of the Key Learning Areas of English and HSIE. A Leader of Learning is a member of the College Leadership Team and chair of a faculty-based Learning Team. They have the responsibility to ensure that the learning and teaching taking place reflects the College Moral Imperative and Mission statements and meets the learning needs of each student. <br> <h3>Essential Criteria:</h3> <br> • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools. <br>• The applicant should have a four-year trained teacher classification and with an established record of success in teaching. <br>• Ability to collaboratively lead, mentor and coach teachers to design innovative curriculum, contemporary pedagogies and wellbeing for learning practices. <br>• Lead professional learning dialogue by facilitating opportunities for teams of teachers to meet, plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate learning. <br>• Build teacher capacity to: o Provide relevant and authentic student-centred learning o Improve student learning through focussed, in-situ teacher professional learning, and o Effectively use data to facilitate learning which meets each student at their point of challenge <br>• Contribute to the development and implementation of a school-wide literacy action plan. <br>• Ensure learning and teaching practices align with the College Moral Imperative to co-create learning opportunities that empower young people to become confident, agile and reflective learners. <br>• Contribute to a culture which enables imagination, creativity and innovation fostered by teacher norms that reflect both best practice and next practice. <br>• Possess high level communication skills and interpersonal skills, including empathy and confidentiality. <br>• Ability to demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional learning. <br>• Current NESA Accreditation <br>• Paid Working With Children Check (WWCC) <br>• Completion of Anaphylaxis training <br>• Willingness to comply with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy 2018 <br>• Willingness to work towards the current Accreditation at Category C: Accreditation for Leadership <br> <h3>Desirable Criteria:</h3> <br> <br> <h3>Renumeration:</h3> <br> Salary is in accordance with New South Wales &amp; Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2017.
