Applications are invited for the position of EAL/D Teacher (English as an Additional Language or Dialect) at St Andrew's Catholic College, Redlynch. This is a full time permanent position. Part time hours will be considered for the right candidate

<ul><li>Commencing: 16 January 2021</li><li>Full Time Permanent Position - (Part Time hours considered)</li><li>Salary Range: $73,628 - $106,044 gross per annum </li><li>Applications close: 5.00pm, Wednesday 30 September 2020</li></ul><h4>Working for Catholic Education Services, Cairns </h4><p>The Catholic Education Community – Diocese of Cairns, is a partnership between Catholic Education Services and twenty-nine schools. There are nineteen primary schools, 2 Prep to Year 12 College, and six secondary Colleges. The 29th school is a Special Assistance School with campuses in Cairns and Cooktown, catering for disengaged young people in Years 7-12. Two new schools opened in 2016 in Weipa (P-6) and Mt Peter (P-12). </p><h4>Purpose of the Role</h4><p>The EALD teacher will provide a source of specialised advice and professional support in EALD teaching practices. They will work collaboratively to develop policy and design professional learning and resources in the area of teaching students with EALD needs. They will provide the required support to allow EALD students to access the curriculum and work in partnership to create a supportive environment in which students feel able to achieve their potential and overcome the language barrier. He/she will liaise with both academic and pastoral leaders and will provide teaching and support across all school levels (Prep to Year 12). </p><h4>Mandatory Qualifications &amp; Requirements</h4><ul><li>Professional qualifications in Education </li><li>Registered or eligible to register with Queensland College of Teachers </li><li>Willingness to achieve Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School and Accreditation to Teach Religion in a Catholic School (Teachers of Religious Education) </li><li>Willingness to support and participate in the prayer, liturgy and sacramental life of the Church in the school community </li><li>Promote child safety at all times </li><li>Capacity to understand and implement Duty of Care and Workplace Health and Safety requirements. </li><li>Current drivers licence </li><li>A strong demonstrated commitment to the objectives, vision and ethos of Catholic Education</li></ul><p>Catholic Education Cairns is an equal opportunity employer</p><p><br /></p>
