A reputable Pathways education provider located in the heart of Melbourne CBD is currently seeking applications from Business, English and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Science) teachers who are interested in casual teaching positions in the Foundation Studies program. The teaching rate is $79 per hour and includes assessment and correction.

<p><b>Casual Teacher – Foundation Studies </b></p><p>As a Foundation Studies teacher, you will be responsible for the delivery of course material for Business, English and/or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Science), assessing students and the supervision of students enrolled in the course you are teaching. We are predominantly seeking teachers who have experience in teaching international students at a senior Secondary School level and/or Foundation Studies level. </p><p>Once registered, your application will be reviewed, and applicants who match our selection criteria will be contacted for an interview. You may be allocated a class or work on an on-call basis to provide relief teaching coverage when required. </p><p><b>Foundation Studies </b></p><p>The Foundation Studies Program meets Australia’s National Standards for Foundation Programs. It is nationally recognised as a program that equips international students with the skills and capabilities to seek entry into higher education programs in Australia. </p><p>This program is designed to prepare students for a seamless transition into a range of higher education programs. It develops a mix of discipline knowledge, academic English and study skills in a supportive, flexible and learner-centred environment. It aims to assist them to become independent, critical and lifelong learners and to maximise their potential for success in an Australian university context. </p><p><b>As a Casual Foundation Studies teacher you will: </b></p><ul><li>Deliver teaching programs in a professional and effective manner. </li><li>Support the preparation of Foundation Studies curriculum </li><li>Demonstrate best practice delivery modes, both face-to-face and online using the Learning Management System (Canvas) </li><li>Assess students’ progress and achievement, provide feedback, and maintain accurate records (academic and attendance) in accordance with company policies and processes </li><li>Recognise students at risk, identify and implement strategies to improve learning outcomes and provide feedback to students and support services on their progress </li><li>Assist with student activities such as orientation, pre-course advice </li><li>Participate In meetings and other relevant stream activities </li></ul><p><b>To be successful in this role you will have:   </b></p><ul><li>Current Working with Children Check or VIT registration</li><li>Effective interpersonal and communication skills </li><li>Demonstrated skills and experience in delivering and assessing both in face to face and online classes (using a Learning Management System such as Canvas) </li><li>Capacity to identify learning difficulties in students, propose and implement effective strategies </li><li>Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team </li><li>Demonstrated skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies (i.e. Office 365 tools and Canvas). </li><li>Experience in the use of Canvas, including Collaborate Ultra, is desired. </li><li>Experience in teaching international students at a senior Secondary School level and/or Foundation Studies level is desired. </li></ul><p><b>Additional qualifications and experience required per discipline:</b></p><p><b><u>Business</u></b></p><ul><li>A recognised degree relevant to the course being taught plus: </li><li>A formal teaching qualification AND </li><li>Minimum two years’ relevant teaching experience, including breadth of experience in delivering to students from non-English speaking backgrounds. </li><li>TESOL (English Language Teaching Qualification) is desired </li></ul><p><b><u>English</u></b><br /></p><ul><li>A recognised degree AND </li><li>An appropriate English language teaching qualification (i.e. TESOL) AND </li><li>2 years ESL/EFL teaching experience </li></ul><p><b><u>STEM </u></b></p><ul><li>A recognised degree relevant to the course being taught plus: </li><li>A formal teaching qualification AND </li><li>Minimum two years’ relevant teaching experience, including breadth of experience in delivering to students from non-English speaking backgrounds. </li><li>TESOL (English Language Teaching Qualification) is desired </li><li>For Mathematics teachers, demonstrated skills include the Ti Nspire CX CAS calculator<br /><br /></li></ul><p>Submit your application <b>(including your resume and a one-page cover letter outlining your suitability for the role)</b> by clicking ‘Apply for Job’. </p>
