The School Counsellor is a wellbeing resource for the St Paul Lutheran School community. The School Counsellor works with the Wellbeing Leader and Inclusive Education Leader to provide counselling and support strategies and promote the social and emotional wellbeing of the school community, with a student-centred focus.

<p>The School Counsellor will have a clear commitment to and an understanding of the ethos that underpins a Lutheran school. The School Counsellor must have a Working With Children Check and Responding to Abuse and Neglect training.</p><p>The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification in Education, Psychology, Social Work or Counselling. The role is designed as 0.8 FTE, which is 5 days per week, 41 weeks per year, however, total time and hours are negotiable with the successful candidate. </p><p>                                        <b>Desirable Characteristics</b> </p><p>• Registered as a teacher with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia </p><p>• Experience working in a similar role in a school </p><p>• Member of relevant counselling organisations, eg CASA, ACCS </p><p>• Knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practices such as Reggio Emilia, Play Based Learning, and Inquiry Learning etc. </p><p>• Post Graduate Qualifications in Counselling or related field. </p><p>• Knowledge of Positive Education. </p><p>• Knowledge and experience using wellbeing programs (i.e. What’s the Buzz, Seasons for Growth, Rock and Water etc.) </p><p>Any questions regarding the role can be obtained from the Deputy Principal, Mr. Jason Fay at <a href="mailto:jfay&#64;stpaulba.sa.edu.au" rel="nofollow">jfay&#64;stpaulba.sa.edu.au</a> or 82602655.</p>
