Grounds Maintenance Employee - Non-trade qualified Permanent part time 40 hours per fortnight

<p dir="ltr">We are seeking a Non-trade Qualified Building Maintenance employee who will be responsible to support the other services of a school, including but not limited to cleaning, building and grounds maintenance.</p> <p dir="ltr">The successful candidate will need to undergo mandatory physical checks and obtain a Working With Children Clearance number (WWCC) prior to commencing in this role.</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Key accountabilities</strong></p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">Ability to conduct non-specialised repair work;</li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Overall responsibility for school grounds and building maintenance including:</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Maintenance of school gardens such as mowing of grass and gardening</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Cleaning of external areas such blowing of pathways and picking up of rubbish</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Emptying of wheelie bins</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Washing of wheelie bins during the term break</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Fixing of various minor maintenance required</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Set up of gathering space or other school areas as per request from Principal or delegate</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Marking of ovals for sports activities</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Cleanup of small graffiti within the school</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Opening and closing of gates within the school that requires manual intervention</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Report any matters required major repairs/cleanup to the Business Manager.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Business Manager.</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements of the Position</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support of the Catholic ethos</li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Demonstrated ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Demonstrated ability to follow direction, prioritise and meet set deadlines</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Demonstrated interpersonal skills in working with a range of personnel</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Strong planning and organisation skills</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Demonstrated ability to maintain the quality of assigned work</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>It is essential that you:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Have demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Have demonstrated ability to follow direction, prioritise and meet set deadlines</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Have demonstrated interpersonal skills in working with a range of personnel</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Support the mission, teachings and ethos of the Catholic Church’s work in schools</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Experience and Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Does not have a trade qualification (certificate III), but has a skill level which<br>assumes and requires knowledge, training or experience relevant to the duties to<br>be performed.</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>The Organisation</strong><br><br>Catholic Education within the Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment in its primary and secondary schools and for early learning and out of school hours care centres in western Sydney.
