Junior school teachers report directly to the Principal. The mission of St Sava College is to light the Path to Life. We aim to nurture virtue in the souls of students, staff and parents by immersion in a classical curriculum and historical Orthodox Christian spirituality.

<p><b>Junior School Class Teachers </b></p><p><b>2 positions available </b></p><p><b>St Sava College </b></p><p><b>Varroville, NSW </b></p><p>Contract type: Permanent full-time, commencing Term 1 2021 </p><p>St Sava College is a co-educational Serbian Orthodox School, opening in 2021 with K-2. </p><p>The school is located in the burgeoning Sydney south-west growth centre. We aim to nurture virtue in the souls of students, staff and parents by immersion in a classical curriculum and historical Orthodox Christian spirituality. </p><p><br /></p><p><b>Role </b></p><p>Applicants will: </p><p>• be baptised Christians who support the mission, vision, values and philosophy of the school </p><p>• implement best classroom practice </p><p>• engage in professional learning </p><p>• comply with school policies and procedures </p><p>• perform responsibilities and duties appropriate for a Junior School Class Teacher </p><p><br /></p><p><b>Selection criteria </b></p><p>Applicants will have: </p><p>• recognised tertiary and teaching qualifications to teach K-6, and satisfy NESA requirements to teach in NSW schools </p><p>• experience as a classroom teacher and sound knowledge of NSW curriculum and syllabuses </p><p>• a demonstrated ability to plan and differentiate teaching and learning programs and use data to drive improvement in student outcomes </p><p>• demonstrated excellence in the effective use of evidence-based pedagogies to implement high quality literacy and numeracy programs </p><p>• experience in assessing, tracking and reporting on student progress </p><p>• a strong commitment to ongoing development of best classroom practice </p><p>• evidence of exemplary classroom management strategies and wellbeing programs with a proven ability to develop a positive learning environment to promote high expectations for student success </p><p>• a capacity to promote student wellbeing and implement consistent positive behaviour management practices </p><p>• highly developed organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a whole school team to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the community </p><p>• a willingness to undertake extra-curricular activities throughout the school </p><p> </p><p><b>Conditions </b></p><p>Salary and employment conditions are based on the Educational Service (Teachers) Award 2020 with possibility of transition to the NSW Standards Model (Teachers) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021. </p><p>Benefits include: </p><p>• Professional learning opportunities </p><p>• Onsite parking </p><p>• Discounted school fees. </p><p>Application process </p><p>Please forward a cover letter and curriculum vitae to employment&#64;stsava.nsw.edu.au by Friday 13 November 2020. </p><p>Applications must include NESA approval, Working with Children Check details, copies of transcripts, and the names and contact details of 2 referees, in addition to your parish priest.
