<p>Trinity Lutheran College is a Kindergarten to Year 12 Christian co-educational college and an International Baccalaureate World School for the Primary Years Programme (PYP). Located in Ashmore on Queensland’s beautiful Gold Coast, it also offers an on-site Early Learning Centre. </p><p> </p><p>We are currently seeking a full time Head of Learning – Humanities, Years 6-12 to join our Middle and Senior Years Campus. This is a full-time permanent teaching position, with added Head of Learning responsibilities for an initial tenure of 3 years. This position will commence on 14 January 2021. </p><p>The Head of Learning - Humanities provides strategic and instructional leadership and management for the academic progression of each student in the middle and senior years. This position plays a key role in working with other staff to ensure learning outcomes are optimised for individual students. The learning area may include subjects such as SOSE, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accounting, Economics, Legal Studies, and Business and Management (or any similar subjects as specified by Queensland Curriculum &amp; Assessment Authority). </p><p> </p><p>The Head of Learning will consult, advise, co-operate and provide effective leadership and management in matters of school policy, organisation, practice and strategic direction with respect to curriculum and pedagogy (including teaching, learning, assessment, monitoring and intervention, and reporting. </p><p> </p><p>The following selection criteria will be used by the panel when short-listing candidates: </p><p>• Committed to engage and grow in their Christian faith </p><p>• Demonstrated leadership capacity to realise the strategic vision and intentions of the college and the mission and values of the Lutheran education </p><p>• Demonstrated ability to lead curriculum and pedagogy in contemporary learning environments </p><p>• Capacity to manage resources effectively </p><p>• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff in their professional capacity </p><p>• Interpersonal skills appropriate to establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, staff and parents, particularly the ability to work as a member of a team </p><p>• Strong understanding of the developmental needs of adolescents and emerging young adults </p><p>• Commitment to supporting the college’s relational management and restorative practice </p><p>• Willingness to be involved in the extracurricular life of the college </p><p> </p><p>For further information please review the position description.
